This beautifully presented property is set in a quiet corner on the edge of the village and with walking and cycling routes from the doorstep, there is plenty to do. It is within easy reach of nearby Embleton (1.5 miles) with its superb farm shop and delicatessen and popular pub/restaurants. Stroll on the sandy beach at Low Newton (2.5 miles) with its beachside pub, just perfect for a lunch stop, and walk past Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course to Embleton Bay (2.5 miles) for a family picnic and kite flying. Head to Beadnell Bay via the coastal path for more stunning shoreline scenery, water sports and rock pooling, and enjoy Beadnell village where there is a beach cafe, two pubs/restaurants and the cafe/bistro. Take a boat trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses (7 miles) and spend a memorable day at Alnwick Castle and Gardens (7 miles), or Bamburgh Castle (9.5 miles)

Step into the welcoming hallway of this bright and airy property where you can leave your outdoor clothing and walking boots. Head through to the lounge (which has views of the garden through the French doors) where there is plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to relax on in front of the cosy wood burner. Enjoy a movie night on the Smart TV or open the French doors in the warmer months for some inside/outside living. The stylish kitchen/diner with a large centre island is well equipped and there is a generous dining area with seating for eight, where you can enjoy family mealtimes together. The utility/boot room houses the washing machine and additional coat and boot storage, and there is a downstairs WC cloakroom with coat hooks. Heading upstairs at bedtime, you will find a wide landing area with a built-in double wardrobe for additional storage space. The generous super-king-size bedroom has a Juliet balcony offering views of the wrap-around garden, the local countryside, and a sea view of Beadnell in the distance. The spacious en-suite comprises a walk-in shower and WC. There are two further bedrooms each with lovely views of the countryside to the south: a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower and WC, and a king-size bedroom. The snug/study has a comfortable sofa bed for an additional guest on request and is perfect for a quiet read with a good book. There is a desk and monitor where you can sit comfortably with a laptop, and the dual-aspect windows overlook the garden with a view of the sea and a nearby woodland beyond. The family bathroom completes the accommodation.

Outside, to the rear of the property, you will find the fully enclosed, south-facing, wrap-around garden. There is a patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ for alfresco drinks, dining and dark sky star gazing.

The property was beautifully furnished and very spacious. The kitchen was immensely well equipped and a pleasure to use. The property was clean and very comfortable. It is located a short drive from the beach and is a great base to walk on the coast or visit the many attractions which include Alnwick gardens, Cragside and Lindisfarne.

We had a relaxing Christmas at Driftwood. The house is very well furnished and equipped, a lot of thought and attention has gone into making it a lovely place to stay. Very easy to find walks nearby and good places to eat. We would have no hesitation in highly recommending it and would love to return.

The house which is a newish built property was immaculate, luxurious and very comfortable including the beds. It was spacious, well laid out and the kitchen in particular was exceedingly well equipped. It was a such a pleasure to stay there. It was in a very good and central location for seeing the wonderful sights of Northumberland. We made viRead moresits to Bamburgh, Craster and Dunstanburgh castle and Lindisfarne, Alnmouth , Alnwick and the National Trust property Cragside amongst others. There is lots to see and do and it is such a beautiful area especially the stunning beaches and coast. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend both the house and the area. Hide

Driftwood was the best appointed cottage we have ever stayed in, there was an abundance of equipment and it was wonderfully clean and well kept throughout. The beds were comfortable and the pillows, allowing a wonderful night's sleep, it's well situated to get to most places in Northumberland, but a car is essential, it was a relaxing week and a grRead moreeat opportunity to unwind.
