Sitting within the quiet hamlet of Mawla, rest and relaxation is guaranteed and this retreat is close to some of Cornwall's most popular surfing hot spots, including Porthtowan (1 mile) and St Agnes (5 miles). The capital city of Truro is 10 miles away and offers a wealth of shopping, charming restaurants and pubs. The countryside offers some of the finest routes for walkers and cyclists alike, littered with stunning views and picturesque relics of Cornwall's mining heritage, and some of the most beautiful and rugged coastline to enjoy. The old tramway is 150 metres away and this is now the 'Coast to Coast' bridle and cycle path from Devoran to Portreath with cycle hire and riding stables within 1 mile. Tucked away next to the owners' residence yet giving complete privacy, this stunning detached retreat will not disappoint.

Head inside from tranquil surroundings to the light and welcoming open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner with beautiful furnishings. The kitchen area is equipped with everything you'll need for cooking up your holiday meals, and a charming coffee bar. Relax in the lounge area and watch your favourite film on the Smart TV, or gather around the dining table for an evening of board games. Upstairs on the landing is the utility cupboard, along with doors to all bedrooms and the family bathroom. There is a spacious king bedroom with an en-suite shower room along with a double and twin bedroom, all thoughtfully styled. Completing the inside is the modern and contemporary family bathroom with a separate bath, ideal for a soak after a day on the mining trails.

Sliding doors from the open-plan living space lead out to an enclosed patio with a picnic table and charcoal BBQ to dine alfresco, along with a comfy outdoor sofa. There is another enclosed and private lawned garden to the front of the property with seating and plenty of space for children to play as well as a fully equipped games room with air hockey and more. This space also provides a perfect area for unwinding in the hot tub.

Well appointed. Isolated location. Good position to visit st Ives, Padstow and Eden Project. Lovely hot tub but a cover overhead an advantage.

Excellent place to stay and location near lovely beach with waves, great for body boarding and surfing. Surf lessons available from the shop on the beach, really worth doing. Games room loved by the children. Hot tub cleaned and checked by the owners during the week which was reassuring. Absolutely gorgeous cats visiting from next door who loved atRead moretention from our boys!! Friendly welcome by owners and some food goodies on arrival which was really appreciated after a long journey. All rooms clean and downstairs spacious for a family. Thank you for a wonderful stay at Lukes barn. The hosts were fantastic and left us to it unless we needed anything. The place was spotlessly clean, everything was well maintained and good quality. Its a perfect location as a base to explore Cornwall, most places a maximum of 30-40 mins travel. We had a lovely week stay in Lukes Barn. The house is ideally located to explore some lovely coastal areas, everything you need to enjoy your holiday is provided, a welcome pack and tea /coffee pods also provided. The glorious weather we had throughout the week combined with Lukes Barn made our holiday perfect .

Luke's Barn is equipped with everything a family needs. Lovely, caring touches throughout the house. It's exceptionally clean (inside and outside) and we recommend to families as a peaceful holiday retreat. Close to Porthtowan and Portreath beaches. Don't be put off by owners living nextdoor, you will have privacy to relax, but they will help you wRead moreith any queries if you ask them. Super hosts! Beautiful cats Flash and Dobby will keep visiting and keep all entertained- if the games room, hot tub, spacious garden, super sound system, board games and books aren't enough. A brilliant holiday home, everything was immaculate and the owner was really friendly and helpful during our stay, setting us up with the hot tub. We were pleasantly surprised by a lovely welcome basket and all the bits and bobs we needed such as salt, pepper, some spices, dishwasher tablet and washing up liquid. Just a short drive from PorthtowaRead moren which has a pub, cafes, ice cream parlour and a gift shop and an easy base to get to nearby places such as Newquay. We found plenty to do and lots of places to eat. Would definitely recommend this little gem of a holiday to anyone looking to be in the area-thank you! Hide

We had a brilliant week here. The cottage is lovely and clean, really liked the open plan downstairs. The hot tub was amazing, really clean and always warm.
