For birdwatching, Budle Bay is 4.5 miles, or head further afield and explore the Holy Island and Lindisfarne Castle, 19.5 miles, or the stunning Alnwick Castle, 14.5 miles, which had a starring role as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.
