Gorgeous property, comfortable beds with fresh white linen, fluffy towels. Really peaceful area, warm and cosy. It was ideal for our family get together and convenient for us all to attend a wedding nearby. The property is lovely, it was clean and beds very comfortable. Rooms are well furnished with good quality items and the place has a lovely homely feel. Its a nice place to stay with friends/ family and the location is good for country walks and visiting nearby seaside towns and villages, such as Thorpness and Southwold . Plenty of hot water and thRead moree property itself is well heated. It shares a driveway with The Juniper Cafe which serves excellent breakfasts, The Allotment is probably the best brunch Ive ever had, highly recommend. However there are a few things to note, kitchen is a bit under equipped for large parties. Only two saucepans so we needed to modify what we had planned to cook, no tin opener and only just enough mugs some of which were chipped. Enough wine glasses for a function though Hide

This is a lovely holiday cottage in a great location. On the positive side, the kitchen is well equipped with lots of cutlery and crockery. Sadly, we encountered some negatives too: We chose the property because it had a ground floor toilet. We knew that two toddlers would be going through toilet training, so a downstairs toilet was essential to uRead mores. We were informed by email in July that the toilet was out of order. I replied, not unreasonably I thought, that as we were not going to the property for over a month that I hoped the toilet would be fixed by then. We arrived to find the toilet still out of order, and a note informing us that the Dishwasher wasn't working. I immediately tried to phone Holiday Cottages on the number provided, but after 15 minutes of listening to music I gave up and tried to call Suffolk Secrets only to get the same music. I sent an email. The next morning I managed to get through to Holiday Cottages and reported the toilet and Dishwasher issues. I was told that an engineer had attended to fix the dishwasher, obviously not successfully, and that someone would be in touch. I waited until Thursday with no contact and sent another email. I have had no reply. On Friday, finding ourselves in Southwold, I called into Holiday Cottages office and spoke to a young lady who told me that there was nothing she could do, but gave me a number and email address to contact to make a complaint. Some bits about the property for future guests: We would recommend that you take slippers because there are several nails protruding out of the floors upstairs. Young children may find the trip hazards on some interior doors a bit tricky. Elderly or infirm guests might find the lounge furniture a tad low. We had planned a family get together for seven adults and three children to celebrate a significant anniversary, and sadly, were left disappointed at what we encountered. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. Well investigate this right away to make sure everythings in place for the next guest Hide

The cottage is lovely and well equipped. We were notified the day before we arrived that the oven was not working but portable hot plates were provided which worked out ok. The garden is advertised as enclosed but beware if you are taking dogs that this is not the case. We had two small dogs with us and they could get out of all the outside areas sRead moreo has to be watched constantly. Also the cafe in front of the house shares the same driveway which is also part of the garden so not ideal with dogs either. The beds were comfy. Great location foe exploring the area. 10 of us ranging from 16- 71 years old and we all enjoyed our stay. Wouldnt return due to the garden situation with the dogs but ideal if you dont have dogs in your party. Hide

Lovely house with parking at the front for 3 or 4 cars. Spacious bedrooms, beautifully made beds, good quality bed linen. Towels provided. One bedroom on the ground floor with a separate bathroom with a corner bath, no shower. Twin bedded room upstairs, along with 2 further king sized rooms and 1 super king bed. All share 2 separate shower rooms, Read moreno baths upstairs. Plenty of hot water for all, which is rare. Well equipped kitchen, plenty of crockery and glassware, pots and pans. American style fridge freezer. Seating outside although it was particularly hot during our stay and it is a sun trap. If you have children you'd need to take your own sunshade. Wi-fi and TV worked well, low corner suite in lounge plus one large chair. One of the best parts for our family and friends group was the dining room. Enough chairs and room for everyone around a huge table. This is the reason I booked it because many I looked at slept 10 but only had a small table and a breakfast bar. We had a big celebration meal there and played games each evening. We could all sit together. There was a highchair and travel cot there too. All in all we had a great long weekend, short drive to Suffolk Escape Room and half hour drive for lunch on Lady Florence at Orford Quay. Hide
