My friend and I stayed here for a week, And I've got to say it was very much a home from home. We had everything we needed and wanted for our stay. We loved sitting in the conservatory of an evening and watching all the wildlife, there were pigeons, robins, bumblebees, a woodpecker, pheasants and the grand finale of watching a deer grazing at dusk.Read more We thought it was very peaceful of a night, the odd speed demon driving through but nothing that bothered us. The pub across the road is awesome and the food is exceptional. Initially the first night we discussed how each of our mattresses seemed impossible to sleep on. But we both slept amazingly!!!! I'm usually up at home early early morning. I stayed asleep all night every night. We would definitely recommend Tulip Cottage to anyone who wishes to use as a base for your Devon adventures. Thank you. Hide

Cottage was warm and comfortable and in a nice location. Standard of cleaning was disappointing, cobwebs in a few rooms and kitchen equipment needing a wash before use. One of the storage boxes in the garden blew over in the high winds. The parking permit provided was out of date.

Logs and matches but no paper or fire lighters. First aid kit not up to standard. Dont recall seeing a fire blanket in the kitchen. Not very clean. Furniture tired but we expected some of that as reflected in the price. Beds uncomfortable. Overall just basic and I wouldnt book again.

The Cottage is lovely and cosy and a real home from home. Parking nearby in the Village Hall wasnt a problem and the guy next door let us unload on the pavement outside his house. The house has a rustic homely feel which was perfect for us. Communication with the owner was prompt and satisfactory

The Cottage is comfortable with a lovely garden to the rear , cosy but plenty space for a family to stay , full of character and a good location in the lovely village of Axemouth with the Axe estuary opposite the front of the property beyond the 2 village pubs

The cottage should not be rented out to tall people above 1.70 meter. We have been bumping our heads multiple times. The location of the cottage is excellent. The conservatory is a lovely place to relax. However, the ceilings in the rest of the house are low and the doorways posed a safety risk for us.

Had a lovely stay here with four adults and two children. The cottage is cosy but pleasant - the conservatory area is great for eating, playing cards into the evening, etc. Also the new garden furniture is fantastic and was used every day in the summer, as was the barbecue.

The cottage is in a good location but very difficult to load and unload luggage from vehicle as no parking on front. The cottage is on the main road through the village so very noisy. Handy for pubs as they are just across the road. Everything you need in the cottage although it could do with some tlc. Garden safe for dog.
