Embark on a romantic retreat to the enchanting coastal realm of Exmoor, where the idyllic twin villages of Lynmouth and Lynton beckon. Traverse the breathtaking landscape between them aboard the funicular cliff railway, a marvel of engineering that claims the title of the world's highest and steepest water-powered railway, treating you to a thrilling 260m journey. Revel in panoramic vistas of the coastline or venture to the nearby Valley of the Rocks (merely 1.5 miles away or a short ride up on the funicular), boasting some of Britain's loftiest cliffs. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty by exploring on foot, with both the Tarka Trail and South West Coast Path weaving through Lynmouth. For a gastronomic delight, Ilfracombe, less than 20 miles to the east, awaits as the culinary hub of North Devon, offering diverse dining options to suit every palate. Additionally, be sure to encounter the evocative 'Verity,' a Damien Hirst statue gracing the pier at the entrance to the town's historic harbour.

The cottage itself bursts with character and upon stepping in, you’ll soon notice the contemporary style blended with original features and exposed shiplap boarding to the ceilings throughout. The warming sensation of the electric wood burner will be waiting for you after a day of adventures across the North Devon coast, whilst you cosy up on the comfortable sofa and additional armchair provided and enjoy your favourite films on the Smart TV. The kitchen sits next door to the living area and provides everything needed for a stress-free stay, whilst the dining area back in the lounge sits guests with ease at a 2 person bistro table, allowing you to wine, dine and share those best moments of the holiday over some of your favourite foods. Making your way across to the bedroom space you’ll be delighted to see a warming interior bursting with colour, providing a double bed, ample clothing space and a desk for use at your convenience. Completing this romantic retreat is the shower room, which sits just off the kitchen.

The cottage itself provides no private outdoor space, but is 100 yards from the East Lyn River. Although does however perch wonderfully across the riverside with easy access down to the village’s beautiful harbour. Absolutely beautiful place, with literally everything you need (and more the human and doggy treats were a lovely touch!). Immaculately clean, just perfect!!! Dont let the lack of parking stop you - theres on street parking just down the road, three very close car parks and for off loading your bags etc you can literally stop directly opposite theRead more property for the 5 mins itll take you, and then move your car to a parking space. Owners were very accommodating, letting us know we could have an early check in and also letting us take two dogs. Despite some reviews, there were two adults, one small dog and one large dog and it was a perfect size. We fell in love with The Bolt and Lynmouth at New Year was fantastic and very pretty. Hide

An immaculately presented cottage which has a mix of cosy and modern vibes. Superbly equipped in every room. Very comfortable stay, and thoroughly enjoyed the location so close to the seaside. The dog enjoyed her treats (and we enjoyed the 'human treats" too!); it's those little touches that make a huge difference. Will be looking to re-book. ThankRead more you. Hide

This property has been lovingly fitted out to a high standard, there is plenty of heating as and when required but no parking adjacent to the property means that you have to park some distance away and no outside seating is something that can be a bind on a nice day
