Property code: OC-19486

Although it is right in the heart of Blakeney, this property feels tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Head out on foot to explore the beauty of the area - the harbour, the marshes and Norfolk’s coastal path are all easily accessible. There is ample opportunity for birdwatching, and it’s highly advised to take a boat trip out to Blakeney Point where you’ll see some of the UK’s most famed seal colonies. For days at the beach head to sandy Wells-next-the-Sea (8 miles) and Holkham (11.5 miles). Back in Blakeney itself, you’ll find great shops, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance.

Enter the property through the entrance hall which houses a utility cupboard with a washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a separate WC. From here you’ll move into the open-plan living area with lots of comfy seating, a wood burner and plenty of character in the form of original beams, exposed brick walls and unique knick-knacks. This really is the heart of the home and the perfect place for getting together with family and friends. It also connects to the garden through French doors. Leading on from the living room is the kitchen/diner with Rangemaster electric cooker, combination microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a dining table with eight chairs. On the ground floor, you will find two bedrooms. The first bedroom has bunk beds and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has a king-size bed that can be converted into two singles and has access to an en-suite shower room. Upstairs beneath low, sloping ceilings, you’ll find the master suite with a super-king-size bed, views across the marshes and an en-suite bathroom with both a bath and shower cubicle.

To the rear of the property is a generously sized, landscaped garden with steps. A large patio with table and chairs, a summerhouse and a BBQ make it the ideal spot for connecting with friends and family in the summer months. As the gates to the garden are lockable, this area provides a safe space for children to play as well as a secure place for storing bikes. Unusually for Blakeney, the property also benefits from plenty of off-street parking. There is room for two cars at the rear and there is additional parking for one car to the front of the property.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 super-king-size, 1 super-king-size zip-and-link (can be converted into 2 3’ singles on request), 1 bunk bedroom with 3’ beds. Please note pillows are feather filled
  • 3 bathrooms – 1 en-suite shower room with shower cubicle and WC, 1 en-suite bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and WC,  and 1 ground-floor WC

Review: Boat Barn Cottage, Blakeney Boat Barn Cottage is in a fantastic location you really couldnt ask for better. The house itself is large, comfortable and very familyfriendly, which makes it a great base for exploring Blakeney. However, it is definitely in need of some TLC. I hope that by the time this review is published the patio doorsRead more have finally been repaired, as they have apparently been locked since December and were still unusable during our stay in April. A number of issues that had been highlighted by previous guests months earlier were still present, which is a real shame because they are all fixable. The house appears clean at first glance, but it would really benefit from a proper deep clean. When removing a duvet cover, I discovered the duvet underneath was badly stained and yellowing around the edges. I reported this and replaced it with another duvet, which was in pristine condition so attention to detail is clearly needed. Once you spot one problem, you inevitably start noticing others. Despite these frustrations, the cottage has so much potential. Its a brilliant family house in an unbeatable location. Hopefully the issues raised both by us and by earlier guests will be addressed promptly, and future visitors will be able to enjoy the property at its best. Hide

Ideal central location in beautiful Blakeney. Parking a little bit challenging if you have a larger vehicle but doable. A large and comfortable property.

Lovely, comfortable cottage ideally situated for visiting the coastal villages. Well equipped, nicely furnished and the upstairs bedroom has views of the marshes. It proved quite advantageous to be so close to the Spar for fresh breakfast croissants and the cottage itself was lovely and quiet and peaceful both inside and in the garden.
