There are several pubs and popular seafood restaurants on the doorstep, and a range of shops close by. Visit the impressive Seaton Delaval Hall and fascinating Gardens, only 1 mile away. Explore the 19th-century St. Mary’s Lighthouse at low tide (2.5 miles), or walk the coastal path and promenade to Whitley Bay (3 miles). The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of useful appliances, including a small breakfast bar and two stools where you can sit and chat to the family cook, while coffee aficionados will love the premium coffee machine that awaits. Enjoy your meals sitting at the dining table, and after food, head through the French doors into the south-facing conservatory where you can relax on the sofa with a view of the garden and the visiting bird life. The three bedrooms are on the first floor; a king-size bedroom with fantastic sea views and a TV, a double bedroom with plenty of storage space, and a charming single bedroom with a sea view. Completing the property is the well-appointed bathroom with a walk-in shower and WC.

Outside, at the rear, there is a south-facing, enclosed garden with decking and artificial grass, and a bistro table and seating where you can enjoy al fresco food and drinks in the warmer months.

First impressions of the property were very positiveit was clean, tidy, and had a welcoming feel. We were travelling with our children and our dog, so it was great to arrive and find everything ready for us. A lovely added bonus was the supply of luxury towels for us and even towels provided for the dogsmall touches that really make a difference. Read more Once we settled in, we headed out to explore and quickly discovered just how perfect the location is. We enjoyed scenic walks with the kids and the dog along the beautiful, clean beaches, walking as far as Whitley Bay and Blyth. Its a brilliant spot for a seaside break. We visited the Waterford Arms, which is dog-friendly and made eating out easy with our pup in tow. However, it would have been helpful if the property allowed dogs to be left alone for short periodsthis restriction made it tricky to explore more food options, especially since we didnt know the area well. One thing that would really enhance the stay is a more detailed welcome pack. It would be helpful to include information on the local area, especially dog-friendly restaurants (not just outdoor seating), family-friendly spots, and recommended places to explore. All in all, a very enjoyable stay. With a few small improvements, this place could be even better for families and dog owners alike. Hide

We booked this house for the secure enclosed rear garden. Although enclosed the decking is very rotten with holes and screws sticking out which are very dangerous to paws. We had to watch our dog every time he went outside and tried to cover up the most dangerous parts with pots etc from the garden. Not ideal. The house itself has everything you nRead moreeed and is in a good location, 3 mins to beach, pubs, chip shop and local shop. The state of the decking will stop us returning to this otherwise good property. Hide

Beautifully furnished, decorated and presented property. Ideal location for exploring the lovely beaches, coastal walks to Blyth and Whitley Bay. Shops and pubs virtually on the doorstep so no negatives whatsoever, also dog friendly so if you take your furry friend with you there are plenty of great walks for them to enjoy too.

We really enjoyed our stay in Rocky Island View Cottage, the view was special and it was great being so close to the beach and coastal paths while at the same time being close to all the town's amenities like convenience stores and pubs. It was easy to park and the property was easy to find. The property was beautifully furnished and immaculately Read moreclean. We hardly used the car since the coastal walks were close and took us wherever we wanted to go. The beaches were wonderful, golden sands and never crowded, with opportunities to spot dolphins if you were lucky! Hide

A lovely house, a real home away from home. Beautifully presented and spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need. The bed was very comfy with very good quality linen and towels. Dog towels in the porch was a nice touch.
