This recently renovated coach house promises a memorable stay for those who appreciate the charm of antiques and the allure of eclectic design. It offers a comfort retreat for couples or groups of friends. The property is located behind the owner’s house but totally separate with lovely countryside views. Stone in Oxney is a peaceful locale with many footpaths and trails, perfect for walkers and cyclists with the Saxon Shore Way passing through the parish. Watch out for kingfishers and moorhens along the Royal Military Canal and the croaking of the “laughing frog” in the Romney Marsh. Appledore has a convenience store and tearoom (2.3 miles) with the ancient town of Rye 6 miles away. Camber Sands offers a beautiful stretch of golden beach and iconic sand dunes (9 miles) and Tenterden, (7 miles) has a tree-lined high street, full of restaurants and bars, a taproom and the Kent and East Sussex Railway.

Step into the heart of this property and you are instantly welcomed by a country-styled kitchen/dining room which has a functional dresser loaded with everyday crockery. A dining table sits in the middle of the room, perfectly positioned for chatting and dining. The kitchen is well-equipped and has everything you will need for preparing group meals. The living room has large windows which let natural light flood in and is decorated with carefully curated antiques, selected to add character. In addition, there are two sofas and a winged armchair, and a Smart TV and there is a snug corner with a writing desk and chair, perfect for quiet reading or studying. On the ground floor, there is a cloakroom with washbasin and WC. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, two doubles and the third has a small double bed, suitable only for one person. The master bedroom has a door which opens onto the external staircase platform with far-reaching views across the fields. All rooms offer a unique décor, which tell their own story. The bathroom is modern with a shower, washbasin, and WC.

Outside, next to the property, there is a courtyard area offering the perfect blend of rustic nostalgia and creative charm with a table and chairs for alfresco dining and evenings around the fire pit.

Needed a last minute booking. We were so pleased with the cottage, its location and the hosts were wonderful. They couldnt have been more helpful. Would definitely love to come again, next time for longer as so many beautiful places still to explore.

This is a really well equipped cottage with a nice blend of antique furnishings and really well equipped kitchen area and shower. The barn is ideally places for visiting Rye, Dungeoness, Hastings and a good number of Natioanal Trust properties. There is a great pub in the village which is worth checking out. My family and I spent a lovely four days at the Coach House Stone in Oxney surrounded by wonderful countryside. The house was so comfortable mainly due to the owners John and Erna. The Coach House is a brilliant holiday stay! At an affordable price (we stayed in May) you are in the heart of Kent, staying in a holiday home which has been furnished most lovingly, with a nod to its historic past but at the same time fitted with all modcons. I marvelled at the eye for detail, inside and outside, with an abundance of flowering plaRead morents and multiple places to sit and enjoy the sun and beautiful view. The Coach House lies in a wonderfully peaceful setting in the grounds of the owners property. It is very well equipped and is filled with interesting artefacts which give it a lot more character than many properties. Erna and John were lovely hosts and the welcome pack of milk wine and biscuits was much appreciated. The Coach House has been beautifully converted, thoughtfully furnished and was very comfortable. Everything needful was provided and more besides - nothing was lacking. It was a lovely and quiet location with beautiful views. John and Erna were very friendly and accommodating hosts and we would love to stay again.

The house is exactly as described on the website and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The furnishings are interesting and eclectic, but none the less comfortable. The house is ideally located for exploring east Kent or just having a relaxing break in a quiet village.

Eclectic a good way to describe this marvellous place. Mod cons combined with tasteful furnishings and antiques (not something you would expect in a holiday let). Lovely countryside, excellent cycling (apart from the potholes) and very accommodating owners. A return visit will be a must.
