Set on the outskirts of the friendly and unspoilt village of Clonbur, and surrounded by mountains, lakes, streams and woodlands, the detached bungalow is a comfortable base for a holiday with family or friends. Stroll less than half a mile into the village for a pint of Guinness or a meal, or head to picturesque Cong (3 miles) for more places to eat and drink and to visit the filming locations for the 1951 John Wayne movie The Quiet Man. You’re between Lough Mask and Lough Corrib, a great area for fishing or even wild swimming, and if you fancy something a little different you could head to Ballinrobe Racecourse (10.5 miles) and enjoy a day at the races.
After an active day, get together in front of the open fire in the welcoming lounge or linger over supper in the large kitchen, which has a dining table and a small breakfast bar. The four attractive bedrooms, all with wooden floors, comprise a king-size, a twin, and two doubles, one of which boasts an en-suite shower room. A family bathroom completes the interior.
The enclosed garden is beautifully maintained and includes mature shrubs, a small pond and plenty of lawn for little ones to play on. There’s also garden furniture for al fresco entertaining, and a shed which can be used for storage.
