Set on a small development, this stylish bungalow lies in an incredible setting among the wilderness of Achill Island with breathtaking views of Clew bay, Keel lake and Minaun Cliffs. It’s perfect for a group of friends or family looking for a base for exploring the west coast. The island is across the bridge from County Mayo and home to several beautiful and secluded beaches where you can wander along the shores, paddle in the surf, and have a go at water sports, including surfing with the surf school at Keel Beach (Trawmore Strand). Enjoy a traditional music session in the island’s pubs, and head to the village of Keel (2 miles) to visit the shops, pub, and restaurant. Dugort (2.5 miles) is a village with a fascinating history and two lovely beaches, a restaurant, coffee shop and bar. Keen walkers, cyclists and nature lovers will enjoy the Great Western Greenway, a 26-mile trail following the route of the old railway linking Achill Island with the town of Westport.
The stylish bungalow has the convenient addition of a mezzanine floor and provides a comfortable base with cosy interiors and traditional features. There’s a stone fireplace housing the open fire in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, as well as a TV, a dining table, and space to prepare home-cooked meals in the compact kitchen. There’s also a second lounge where you can relax with a good book on the mezzanine level and there are three gorgeous bedrooms, all have lovely wooden features: a bright double bedroom, two pretty twin rooms, two bathrooms and a shower room.
Outside is a shared open-plan garden you can potter and relax in at the end of a fun day of exploring.
