  • Cosy annexe in a scenic setting with views of McGillicuddy’s Reeks
  • A wood burner to warm yourselves beside after long walks and mountain hikes
  • A shared garden for your children to play out in
Property code: OC-II15920

An enticing County Kerry retreat, this comfortable annexe is perfect for a small family. Sleeping four people, it has two bedrooms and, although it nestles within the grounds of the owner’s house, enjoys its privacy. Set in picturesque countryside, 3 miles from Castleisland, the property looks out towards McGillicuddy’s Reeks, a mountain range on the Iveragh Peninsula. The colourful market town of Castleisland is ideal for stocking up on local produce, dining out in a range of eateries and following the river walk. Tralee, 9 miles away and at the beginning of the Dingle Peninsula, is known for the Kerry County Museum. For a day out to the beach, try the picturesque Fenit Strand, 18 miles away.

Tear yourselves away from the views and enter the single-story annexe to find yourselves in a welcoming, beamed lounge/diner. This has glass doors that slide open to the garden at one end and a wood burner housed in a beautiful brick and stone fireplace at the other. There is space here to relax on the soft seating to chat about your day or watch TV. The kitchen is compact but creatively designed to ensure you have everything you need to help you prepare light snacks and meals. The bedrooms include a double with a bed that has access from one side only, and a twin. There is also a family shower room.

The shared garden is leafy and mature, with a lawn for outdoor games and swings where adults can supervise children as they play. Dine outside on fine days and lose yourselves in the views.
