Visit Derryinver Quay (3 miles) and embark on a sea safari for the chance to spot bottlenose dolphins, grey seals, otters and porpoises in the depths of the Atlantic Sea or spend time on the beaches including Renvyle Beach (2 miles) with its white sand and spectacular mountain scenery. One of the mountains on the horizon is Mweelrea Mountain (10.5 miles), the highest peak in County Mayo and a splendid hike for taking in the views from the top.

Designed with traditional charm throughout, this delightful country cottage is modestly furnished with comfortable features in every room. Let yourselves in and access the kitchen/diner on the ground floor, a light-filled space with room to dine as a group and a handy breakfast bar for more casual mealtimes. The first of two lounges is also down here, equipped with comfy seating, a wood burner for keeping things cosy and a TV/DVD.
