A rustic family-friendly one-bedroom cottage located at the heart of the picturesque village of Glin, the perfect location for exploring the banks of the Shannon Estuary with a plethora of walking trails beginning from the doorstep. As idyllic as they come, Glin packs a real punch, from breathtaking heritage walking trails to a large market square that hosts a variety of fairs that showcase some of the area’s best local produce. Venture along to coast to the Tarbert Ferry (4 miles) to sail across the Shannon Estuary to the idyllic village of Killimer and explore County Clare; you may even spot glimpses of dolphins along your journey. Known for its breathtaking cliff-top walks and abundance of surrounding wildlife, answer the call of the sea at Ballybunion 19 miles away, home to a variety of sandy beaches boasting rocky headlands and caves to explore at low tide.
An entrance porchway welcomes you into the cottage and leads into a rustic yet homely lounge, complete with plenty of comfy seating, a charming, vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and a roaring open fire. A set of glass doors leads into the contemporary kitchen/diner, well-equipped with everything you need to cater and flooded with natural light by the large set of patio doors. Outside of the back door, you’ll find a handy utility room with laundry facilities. The rest of the ground floor comprises the king-size bedroom that can be made up as a twin on request, which features a wonderfully soothing neutral colour palette and a stylish en-suite shower room. Climb the staircase to the cosy mezzanine level beneath the eaves to unwind by listening to the record player; this space can also accommodate another guest on the pull-out sofa bed if required.
Accessed via a large set of sliding doors from the kitchen, the charming courtyard, enclosed by a stone wall, is the perfect spot to enjoy al fresco dining; as the cooler evening air settles, fire up the outdoor fireplace to keep everyone toasty.
