Perched on the cliffside at Cnoc Fola with spectacular ocean views, this contemporary holiday home offers a magical base on the Wild Atlantic Way. Known as the ‘Bloody Foreland’ thanks to the evening glow of the sun on russet rocks, Cnoc Fola is a dramatic stretch of coast filled with natural wonders from a little sea arch to long, sweeping beaches. One of the best local beaches is Magheroarty (5.5 miles), where you can also hop on a ferry to the Tory Island or pick up a coastal trail through sand dunes. For a change of scenery, venture inland to the Glenveagh National Park (20 miles) to explore a landscape of mountains, lakes, waterfalls and woodland, and visit the Victorian castle and gardens.
Arranged over two storeys, this contemporary holiday home is light and spacious, with large windows maximising the views. Set on a polished wooden floor with an open fire, the lounge is cosy and welcoming with plenty of comfortable seating, a TV and a selection of DVDs. This flows into a bright conservatory, where another sofa is positioned to make the most of the views and patio doors lead outside. The kitchen is fresh and modern with sleek cream cabinets and a host of appliances to make light work of entertaining a crowd. There’s also a family dining table in here for convivial mealtimes. The property includes three welcoming bedrooms. On the ground floor is one double room and one triple room (three single beds, ideal for older children), which share the family bathroom with shower over the bath. Upstairs you’ll find a family room featuring one king-size bed and one double bed, with an en-suite shower room.
Outside, a wild, open garden surrounds the property with a terrace and picnic table for al fresco feasts or drinks beneath the stars. There is ample space to park up to three vehicles.
