This welcoming holiday home is right in the heart of Westport, within easy reach of the town’s traditional Irish pubs, fabulous restaurants, and independent shops. The property sleeps six guests and is ideal for large families and groups of friends looking to explore the coast and countryside of County Mayo. Westport is an elegant, Georgian town, full of fascinating architecture and colourful houses. After a potter around the shops, enjoy a relaxing stroll along the tree-lined promenade next to the river, or perhaps visit Westport House (1 mile), with its formal gardens, forest trails, and birds of prey centre. The area is a paradise for walkers, thanks to the Great Western Greenway which stretches from the town all the way to Achill Island (26.5 miles). You’ll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches, from the surfing hotspot of Old Head Beach (12 miles) to the secluded coves of Achill Island.

The end-terrace townhouse is warm and inviting, with traditional, wooden furniture and homely decor throughout. The inviting lounge is a delightful place to unwind after a day of adventure, with a cosy open fire and a collection of comfortable seating set around a TV/DVD. There’s also an Xbox 360, board games and DVDs for your entertainment. The ground floor is home to a bright and sociable kitchen/diner, with all the equipment needed to cater for the group and a large dining table to seat everyone. A handy utility room completes this floor. Heading up to the first floor, you’ll find a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, along with a twin bedroom and a single bedroom, all tastefully decorated. The family bathroom is also located on this floor. The remaining bedroom is on the second floor; an inviting family room with a double and a single bed, as well as a handy en-suite shower room.

Outside, relax in the sunshine in the enclosed courtyard, which has a charming patio area with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining in summer months.

Everything was great. The house was well-equipped and comfortable. It is just a short stroll to everything Westport has to offer and also has easy access to the walking trail network. Grocery and convenience stores are just 3 minutes away. The larger-than-normal refrigerator and separate washer and dryer were especially nice since we were there forRead more a 2-week stay. On street parking was always available within 50 meters, if not right out front. I will strongly recommend this house to my friends. Hide
