This beautiful, detached holiday home on Achill Island, off the west coast of County Mayo, is the perfect base for large family get-togethers and group holidays with the dogs in tow. The island is a great base for outdoor enthusiasts, with nearby activities including golf, fishing, hillwalking, and surfing. Achill Island is known for its breathtaking beaches, so be sure to check out the golden sands of Keel Beach (4.5 miles), Dooega Bay Beach (5 miles) and Keem Bay (9.5 miles). Keen walkers will be in their element, with dramatic coastal paths to explore, including an exhilarating route from Keem Bay to Croaghaun cliffs – the highest cliffs in Ireland! When it comes to eating out, the island has a great range of cosy pubs and independent restaurants in the villages of Dugort (4 miles), Keel (4.5 miles) and Dooagh (6.5 miles).

The detached property is light and airy, with contemporary decor and large windows framing far-reaching rural views. On the ground floor you’ll find two welcoming lounges, both with comfortable seating and TVs for enjoying cosy movie nights together. To the side of the property is a partially enclosed garden, with a patio, outdoor furniture and a BBQ, the perfect setting for al fresco dinners on warm evenings.

We had a wonderful stay at Avondale House! The house is perfect for 3 families, enough privacy but also enough space to be together. Enough bathrooms. The location is very good, in the middle of this beautiful island so near to the beaches but also to the supermarket. Enough parking place for 3 cars. Very nice garden to enjoy the sun, especially evRead moreening sun, we had during this beautiful week. WIFI is fine, key locker is very handy. We would love to come back! Hide

Very nice large house suitable for 3 grown up families and 2 small dogs. Location ideal for quick drive to beach and restaurants
