Set on a working cattle, sheep and fruit farm, this generously sized farmhouse has a traditional and welcoming feel that’s perfect for a peaceful break with family or friends. It’s located 3 miles from the historic town of Lismore, which is set on the banks of the River Blackwater at the foot of the Knockmealdown Mountains. Visit the medieval cathedral, hire a canoe and paddle down the river, play a round of golf or follow one of the lovely walks along a heritage trail. From here you can walk or cycle the Waterford Greenway, or head out for a day trip to drive the Copper Coast which extends from Dungarvan (15 miles) to Tramore (30 miles), and admire the panoramic seascapes, cliffs, bays and coves.

This spacious and comfortable home has a magnificent lounge that features an imposing fireplace with an open fire, as well as a chandelier and built-in bookcase. The farmhouse-style kitchen/diner has a tiled floor, plenty of cupboards and another open fire, this time in a more modest brick fireplace. Whilst we enjoyed the area, and the views, the house wasn't what we expected. The sitting room was totally inhabitable due to extensive damp which spanned the full ceiling. We were not told about this, and on arrival, due to us arriving late in the evening, there was no one there to meet us. When we did meet the owner he said there had been a leak,Read more however this had built up over time, the ceiling was black. We could not use the sitting room for the duration, and 3 members of the party had to move to a hotel on day 4 due to health issues and the damp effecting it. We basically used the house as a base and to sleep as the strong smell carried through the whole house. Older houses are expected to have damp etc, but this was extensive, and uninhabitable and we would have liked to have been advised prior, as once we had arrived, and had all our week planned out with the house as our base, there wasn't anywhere else to go.
