This detached, two-storey farmhouse has been lovingly restored and includes some enticing original features. A good base for touring the North West of Ireland, it’s ideal for large families or groups of friends. Just 2 miles away is the huge, sandy beach of Rossnowlagh, known as one of Ireland’s best surfing beaches, where you can also experience paddle boarding, kite surfing and horse trekking. In the charming seaside resort itself you’ll find an artisan bakery, a barista coffee trailer, a pub and a hotel with a choice of bars and fine dining. The town of Donegal (8 miles) has a reputation for its culinary offerings, and also boasts a castle, abbey ruins, railway heritage centre and waterbus tours.
Furnished with an eye for traditional comfort, the house has a choice of two lounges, both with wood burners and one with a TV, so you can divide into two groups if you wish, or send the little ones away to play separately. In the spacious kitchen/diner you’ll find a farmhouse-style dining table and lots of worktop and cupboard space, plus all the equipment you’ll need to cater for your group. The four bedrooms are all upstairs on the first floor: three doubles, one with an en-suite shower room, and a single, along with the family bathroom for all to stay relaxed and refreshed.
Outside, make use of the pretty and enclosed garden that includes a sitting-out area with a picnic bench and BBQ – a lovely spot in which to enjoy the sunshine with a drink or a meal alfresco.
