When staying, pack up a picnic and head to Derrynane Beach (3.5 miles). On your way home to the cottage, stop off at Derrynane House and National Park (2.5 miles) to enjoy a stroll through the lush gardens as you learn all about the history of its former resident, Daniel O’Connell. The property itself is surrounded with beautiful scenery.
Step inside and you’ll be welcomed into a large open-plan lounge/diner that is bathed in natural light and there is plenty of room for everyone. Whip up some dinner in the traditional kitchen and get the whole gang together for a sociable dinner in the dining area - a real highlight of the property as it boasts a large picture window showcasing uninterrupted sea views. After dinner, cosy up by the open fire in the lounge, and when it’s time for bed, there are four lovely bedrooms to choose from – two doubles, one with an en-suite, and two twins.
Fire up a BBQ and dine alfresco on the deck in the enclosed garden while you take in beautiful sea views. Directly to the front of the property there’s an open gravelled area and space up the steep driveway to park.
