Property code: OC-CHY969

Tucked away in a secluded location, this elegant, granite farmhouse offers a peaceful retreat. Refurbished to a high specification, the spacious rooms and well-designed layout are ideal for gathering together for leisurely meals or escaping to one of the luxurious bedrooms for a quiet night’s sleep. The maritime port of Falmouth (3 miles) is a lively town with many festivals throughout the year and four beaches to enjoy, each offering something different for families, walkers, swimmers, wildlife-watchers and activity enthusiasts. There’s a fantastic range of restaurants offering international cuisine with menus that reflect the coastal location, local produce and vibrant atmosphere. The property is well positioned for exploring the Roseland Peninsula (approx. 20 miles), Helford Passage (7 miles) and The Lizard Peninsula (19 miles), with plenty to see and do in the area. Visit glorious sub-tropical gardens such as Trebah and Glendurgan (both 6 miles), take a boat trip from Falmouth Pier (3 miles) or hire a boat and explore the creeks of the River Fal.

Enter through the front door and step into a spacious kitchen and dining area, adorned with beautiful limestone flooring kept warm by underfloor heating. The stunning kitchen features a large dual-fuel range cooker, quartz worktops and delightful garden views, creating a bright and airy ambiance that will surely delight the chefs in the group. Gather around the dining table for leisurely and delicious home-cooked meals. All modern amenities and a separate utility area at one end ensure utmost comfort and convenience. A ground-floor cloakroom is accessible from the kitchen and a door leads to the garden, inviting you to spill outdoors onto the terrace. A classic living room awaits, offering a cosy yet elegant space filled with contemporary furniture artfully blended with the period setting. Set the stage for a snug evening in by lighting the woodburning stove nestled into the exposed granite chimney breast, while adjustable mood lighting enhances the atmosphere. Upstairs, you’ll find three fabulous bedrooms, each showcasing its own design. Wooden floorboards throughout lend a welcoming and homely feel and the exposed stonework adds to the character. The main bedroom boasts a fantastic super-king size bed and en-suite shower room. The second bedroom features a king-size double bed and the third offers flexible zip-n-link beds. There’s also a charming family bathroom with an inviting roll-top bath and shower over.

There are lovely outdoor spaces to unwind and bask in the sun. Chyventon derives its name from Cornish, meaning ‘house with the spring’ due to the stream gracefully meandering along the garden’s edge. The expansive, enclosed garden is set across multiple levels offering picturesque views but please be cautious near the stream as it is unfenced. A south-facing, well-kept patio featuring a charcoal barbecue provides the perfect setting for al fresco dining. The mini amphitheatre seating by the stream is a delightful spot to rest a while and beyond that, heading deeper into the garden, is an enchanting and untamed area with ancient tree ferns and tropical plants, waiting to be explored.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 super-king, 1 king-size, 2 singles (zip-and-link, can be arranged as a king-size on request at time of booking)

The house was perfect for us, comfortable, very clean and well-appointed. Lots of thoughtful touches across the property, beds all very comfortable and bathrooms clean and well organised. The kitchen is well organised, with high quality equipment, crockery and cutlery. The garden would be a lovely place to relax in warmer weather. Overall we had a Read morewonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend to other families. Hide
