Nestled in Suffolk's serene countryside, Monk Soham offers a tranquil escape steeped in history. This delightful Grade II listed cottage rests amidst expansive private grounds, surrounded by stunning landscapes. The cottage dates back to the early 1600’s and has been lovingly restored by the current owners to retain its period character but offer all modern comforts. St. Peter's Church, a centuries-old architectural marvel, graces the village and is visible from the cottage gardens and nearby rolling fields and woodlands create idyllic settings for leisurely walks and invigorating hikes. Just over 1.5 miles away lies Earl Soham, boasting a cosy pub, excellent local butcher, and grocer. Debenham, just 4 miles away, presents a hub of amenities, including pubs, eateries, and unique independent shops or explore Framlingham, renowned for its historic castle, excellent restaurants and weekend food and craft market, and the picturesque Mere, a haven for grebes and sandpipers, a short 5.6-mile jaunt.

Entering the inviting hall of this charming cottage, boasting many of the original features and brimming with character, you're welcomed by a convenient space that invites you to comfortably remove coats and shoes. Moving forward, you'll discover the first reception room, a comforting sanctuary adorned with a plush sofa and armchair encircling a crackling wood burner. The smart TV stands ready, ensuring entertainment during those snug evenings indoors. Adjacent to this space lies another inviting reception room, exuding a more tranquil atmosphere, ideal for soaking in the breath-taking countryside views or delving into a captivating book by the warmth of yet another wood burner. For the creatively inclined, a desk stands ready, inviting keen writers to craft amidst the peaceful ambiance. Continuing on, the cottage reveals a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, a hub for culinary adventures and social gatherings. The kitchen boasts everything you need to prepare delightful meals, while a generously sized dining table sets the scene for enjoyable family dinners or lively conversations among friends. Additionally, a convenient ground floor cloakroom adds to the practicality of the space. Ascending the stairs, you'll discover three inviting bedrooms, each offering comfort and relaxation. The first bedroom features a super-king size bed, boasting picturesque countryside views and a lavish en-suite. The en-suite is a luxurious retreat, showcasing a roll-top bath perfectly positioned to overlook the stunning countryside, along with a spacious walk-in shower for added indulgence. This is the perfect cottage, I would change nothing about it! If anything the website doesnt do the property justice. We all simply loved the house, the decor, the quirky touches and surrounding area just a little slice of English heaven. We make a point to stay in (what we consider) fabulous accommodation UK at least once a year. A couple of yRead moreear ago we stayed at Hunsett Mill, one of the most sought after and well publicised rental houses in the UK. This is better in every way, my only real complaint is that we had to leave and I doubt the owners will ever sell me the house so we will just have to come back. Shout out to Peter who we met as we left, our hats off to the man behind the scenes, what a stage manager! Hide

Lovely cottage in a secluded and tranquil location. Very well equipped although mobile service on EE network was poor. Low beams in bedrooms might be a source of irritation to anyone over 6' tall but wonderfully quirky for short people! Large kitchen/diner great for family get togethers. Garden dog proof which was a bonus. Would definitely booRead morek again. Hide

Lovely well equipped cottage with a very pretty garden. Excellent seating areas in the garden, modern kitchen with all amenities, large table for everyone to sit together. Very good showers and free standing bath.
