Property code: OC-P28342

This home-from-home quirky cottage makes a great bolthole and is within easy reach of the attractions and amenities of Penzance. Located in West Cornwall, the historic port town is the most westerly large town in Cornwall with a fascinating local history of pirates and smuggling. There’s plenty to do on your doorstep, including subtropical gardens, historic streets, galleries, museums, antiques shops, restaurants – and of course the beach. Located at the end of Mount’s Bay, the iconic St Michael’s Mount is just 3.5 miles away, while the other direction takes you to the famous natural attraction of Land’s End (10 miles). Alternatively, take to the ocean on a sea life safari or catch the ferry to the Isles of Scilly.

Positioned around the corner from the quiet local pub, step into this corner cottage and you'll be welcomed by a cosy feel together with curved walls and Cornish quirks into the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. There's a comfortable sofa where you can catch up with your favourite programme on the Smart TV. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen and dine at the table for a romantic meal for two. Heading up the typically steep Cornish staircase, you'll find the inviting yet light double bedroom with plenty of storage to the front, whilst the spacious family bathroom overlooks the rear courtyard garden below.

After a day exploring your surroundings, dine alfresco in the courtyard garden with outdoor furniture.

  • 1 double bedroom
  • 1 bathroom with walk-in shower and WC

  • Smart TV in lounge and bedroom
  • Welcome pack

Pogle Cottage is a delight! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very at home. The living-room is charming, and the bedroom is a haven. Lovely clean and bright bathroom and good shower and bath. The artwork around the cottage is very good, is very pleasing to the eye, and enhances the holiday experience. The spotlights and sidelights downstairs Read moreare great adding to the atmosphere. We really appreciated also having two excellent TVs and a selection of DVDs and CDs to enjoy (also very much to our taste!) and an easy-to-use Cd/radio player-hurrah! It all felt welcoming and we didnt want to leave. Parking is unfortunately a struggle (as is the issue in most towns) and it did impact our stay somewhat in terms of having to plan outings around that a bit, so we are considering next time travelling there by train and using the local buses when going out of town) as we would love to stay at Pogle Cottage again!) although each time we used the car we were able to find one space up the street fortunately. This would work well by train as the train / bus station is so near the cottage (yet one would never know from being in the cottage until one walks down the road and sees it, which is also good!) However we would also consider driving again as we did find a space each time after a little drive around, and at least the street parking there is free. We love Penzance, and the town centre is just a few meters away so is ideal. We found the top of the stairs very narrow so just to be careful there. Its is lovely having an outdoor space at the back with a table and chairs. Also the washing-line is so helpful after a days swim in particular-and it is all very clean. Pogle Cottage has a real traditional and characterful Cornish feel, and the street it is on is also a delight. It was also nice to have a quick-buy fish n chip shop after a long journey which is just at the top of the street! The owner/s clearly love the cottage, and we do too! Thank you for a fantastic magical haven of a holiday cottage! We love it!!! Hide

Lovely cottage well located for Penzance and all West Cornwall attractions. Shame the pub backing on to it doesn't like dogs they lost our custom for the week.

The cottage is very clean, well equipped and near to the shops and sea front. The outside plastic chairs could do with an update. Maybe even a personal welcome letter, with WiFi code. Instead of a just a folder with appliance leaflets. However the milk, biscuits and teabags were a very nice touch. Cornwall is incredible.

Great little cottage, Centrally located and walking distance of everything in Penzance. Parking is an issue but easy to find on nearby streets and public carparks. House quirky, well laid out, stairs steep, spotlessly clean, perfect for 2.

Positives: nice property, great location, clean and well equipped. Negatives: Parking is a bit of a problem (but that's not the property's fault, you have to be lucky!), settee uncomfortable, but the biggest problem was the shower didn't work and no one came to fix it; we had to have baths every day, which is very VERY slow to fill and we wasted aRead more lot of time.
