Stamps is a lovely cottage. It has a very good range of equipment in the kitchen, probably one of the best we have stayed in, even the kitchen knives were sharp! Being dog friendly it is good for us. The hot tub in the back yard is a lovely enhancement and worked well. The only real negative for us was the previously documented traffic noise beingRead more a function of the position. If potential holidaymakers are used to living with passing traffic I am sure it would not be a problem. Uplyme village is perfectly placed for visitors to the Devon/Dorset area being a 1.5 mile walk into Lyme Regis and a short drive to other costal towns. Overall a good holiday was had. Hide

We enjoyed a lovely week at Stamps cottage, it is exceptionally clean, comfortable and very well maintained. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need for during your holiday, I would say its probably the best equipped cottage weve ever stayed in. The cream tea left for us on arrival was a lovely touch, very thoughtful indeed. We stayed at Stamps Christmas week arriving on the 23rd December 2025. The cottage is beautiful, warm, cosey and inviting. It is fully equipped with everything we needed and more. We took our two small dogs and we absolutely loved it. The cottage has 2 double bedrooms really thoughtfully decorated in beach theme which is great, as who doesn't like Read morethe beach. There were some lovely little Christmas decorations up and they had even left us mince pies, cream and festive crackers and what I found super thoughtful was the tin foil and the big tin foil baking tray in case we were cooking turkey. There was so many nice little touches and thoughtfulness in this cottage you can tell the owners really care about their visitors. There were dog bowls already there so you don't need to pack those and even a little torch which came in handy at night when popping the dogs out for a bedtime wee. The location is great , 5 min drive into central Lyme (if that) or a walk along the river. The cottage is on a main road so I recommend short leads for dogs when leaving the property. Others have mentioned noise from the main road but in all honesty this did not bother us at all I don't think it was loud and you get used to it quickly! it certainly did not affect our stay at all. There is a really nice local pub a few doors down too which is always nice. The location was great for us as we went off exploring in the car most days to other villages. We did lots of walking and the Golden Cap walk is highly recommended for the views. There is loads of information in the book supplied by the cottage of things to do, where to walk and places to eat. There is also another book which literally tells you how everything works even down to the microwave/oven. The communication from the owner Emma was brilliant, she let us know we could get in a bit earlier on the day we arrived which was super helpful after a long drive. It was such a comfortable stay here at Stamps, I felt really welcomed and most importantly I think it's lovely that dogs are encouraged and welcomed. Taking dogs on holiday means a lot to us as a couple so the fact that this cottage is so dog friendly warms my heart. I wouldn't hesitate to book and stay here again and I really hope to do this in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay. Hide

Weve just returned from a fantastic stay at Stamps Cottage! The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. The hot tub and log burner were great in the cold weather. Lyme Regis is within walking distance either by path or along a very scenic woodland route. Well definitely be staying here again!

Very noisy from traffic accelerating up the hill, outside cottage, as only one lane on hill due to cars parked on left all the way up hill so having to get up quickly in space between traffic coming the other way.
