A lovely grade II listed house, which with its old world charm makes for a perfect break or get away The garden was excellent and secure for our dog George The beds were comfy for a great night's sleep The kitchen lacked a little work top space but was manageable The top tub was good but NO bubbles !!! and a bit of a faff having to continually Read moretry and keep it at a constant temp to use first thing and again in the evening But to having the Entire estate to explore with our dog every evening was an absolute joy. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family If you do stay ensure you try the Saracens Head as the food was Superb. Hide

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the gatehouse. Beautifully decorated and appointed and a stunning view from every window. Perfect location to meet friends and no arguing over rooms, as both main rooms each had their own huge bathrooms! A lovely welcome pack from Jarrolds too. We will be back.

Lovely setting, and a beautiful grade 2 listed building with character. However, we had problems with water leaks from pipes in bathroom causing water coming through the ceiling to dining room, making the space unhabitable, twice. The team were quick to respond and apologetic, but you don't expect this type of issue when staying at an expensive Read moreproperty. The outdoor lights didn't work and when we lit a fire in the fireplace the carbon monoxide alarm was going for ages, so we had to open all windows and doors for a long period. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. Weve spoken to the owner and the issues have been resolved. Hide
