Property code: OC-M28141

Nestled in the charming town of Appledore, this early 19th-century Grade II-listed building rests directly alongside the serene estuary, presenting a postcard-worthy vista on your doorstep. Meander through the enchanting streets bordered by picturesque fisherman's dwellings in soft pastel hues, while a delightful array of cosy pubs, cafes, and eateries offer front-row seats to the vibrant maritime activity - including the Seagate restaurant opposite your front door. Immerse yourself in the town's legacy at the Maritime Museum, or explore its thriving arts and crafts scene with galleries and boutiques aplenty. Surf enthusiasts will find bliss at the renowned Westward Ho! beach (3 miles), while the nearby town of Bideford (3.5 miles) invites exploration with boat trips to the captivating Lundy Island. Families seeking adventure can revel in the delights of The Big Sheep (4 miles) or venture 11 miles down the coast to the Milky Way Adventure Park for a day of boundless fun.

Stepping through your front door off Appledore Quay, you will soon notice the unique yet cosy design of this wonderful cottage. The home features a semi-upside-down design with the lounge on the upper floor (making the most of its quayside views), alongside two bedrooms and the bathroom. The kitchen, dining space and final bedroom await on the lower floor. The lounge features a comfortable corner sofa, Smart TV and wonderful views across the estuary, and there is also an accompanying desk space where you’ll find the perfect spot to unpack the binoculars. The kitchen sits alongside the dining room and provides all the appliances needed for a stress-free stay, whilst the dining table provides the perfect setting for laid back meals together, along with an additional sofa for relaxation after a hearty meal. The first of the three bedrooms sits opposite here and contains a double bed, whilst the further two bedrooms upstairs handily host a single bed and a king-size zip-and-link option which can be made into two singles upon request. Completing this home from home is the family bathroom, providing a shower over bath and WC, and an additional WC just off the kitchen.

Although there is no private outdoor space, guests can delight in stepping outside the front door and being in the heart of everything Appledore, whether it’s grabbing a Hockings ice cream from the van opposite throughout the spring and summer, enjoying your favourite tipple in the restaurant opposite or simply enjoying the scenic views from the quay.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 single and 1 king-size zip-and-link which can be split into two 2’6” singles upon request
  • 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC and 1 separate WC
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer box, washing machine and coffee machine
  • Smart TV in lounge
  • Parking in public pay and display car parks, and free roadside parking along the quay outside (subject to availability)
  • Shops, cafes and pub all within 50 metres
  • Please note: The Seagate pub is situated opposite offering relaxed dining. Well-insulated internal walls mitigate internal noise but occasionally some outdoor atmospheric sound is something you may briefly come across. Pub always closed by 11pm.
  • This property is on four different levels with open staircases and due to its history, there is uneven stone flooring in the dining room
  • Due to the various levels in the property, it maybe unsuitable for those with accessibility issues or children under 4
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 1 dog allowed. Additional charges may apply

Comfy beds, extremely well equipped cottage. Loved the historical info on the property. We realised it was a pet friendly property which unfortunately caused my allergies to spiral otherwise we would stay again. The welcome pack was an absolute treat, thanks.

Good waterfront view, well appointed and very comfortable cottage. There a split levels on the upper floor but these are easily navigable even with my arthritic hip by taking my time. The kitchen/diner threshold has tiny level differences each side and I needed to be extra vigilant taking this route. Having a toilet on each level is always a great Read moreplus. The dining room and upstairs bedroom (which we used) are single pane traditional windows and this was obvious with the cold and sound levels noticeably enhanced. We stayed out of season in March and for me the sound levels particularly from the pub seating area outside became quite unacceptable at the weekend so would not like to experience peak holiday times here. Recycling and bin instructions were clear and luckily we found parking across the road most days.. Hide

We have stayed in Appledore many times with Marsdens and stayed at some beautiful cottages. Our stay this time at Quayside Corner was exceptionally good. The cottage was beautiful and had everything anyone could need but above everything the views from the cottage were amazing and are missed now being home. We will undoubtedly look to stay in the cRead moreottage again. Thank you Hide
