This stunning detached cottage is located on the edge of the River Stour and next to the historic Throop Mill. Set in the picturesque village of Throop, approximately 4 miles from Bournemouth Town Centre, the home of award-winning sandy beaches and the start of the Dorset Jurassic Coastline. Throop is the perfect spot for you to relax where you will find walks directly from the property into the open countryside, or take the short drive to the historic town of Christchurch, approximately 4 miles. Here you will find the historic priory church, castle ruins, coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shops. There is something for everyone.

Entering the property via electric gates, you are welcomed to a magical spot where you can hear the river flowing at the end of the garden and the birds singing in the trees. Stepping inside the property, you are welcomed into a bright and spacious lounge with a Smart TV, a wood burner for those cold winter evenings, and French doors leading to the terrace. The well-equipped kitchen offers you the space to cook up a lovely evening meal or breakfast before the day ahead of exploring what Dorset has to offer. There is also a separate dining room for all the family to enjoy meals together. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and another with twin single beds, both with built-in wardrobes. The family shower room completes this floor.

Outside, the terrace area has been well designed for all your needs. Enjoy a relaxing morning coffee or a day of sunbathing, with a secluded area for you all to enjoy. Watch the river flow by, and if you are lucky the local wildlife will be around for you to enjoy. The remaining part of the garden is mainly laid to lawn with a shed which can be used to store bikes, fishing equipment, golf clubs, or beach toys. Please note there is direct access to the river and children need to be supervised at all times.

Had a lovely time at the cottage, very quiet and peaceful and enjoyed seeing all the wildlife. The weather was typical British weather so we couldnt really make use of the balcony but the gardens were lovely.

Renting the property was a brilliant decision. Spacious grounds behind closed gates felt secure and calming and the sound of the wildlife was wonderful. We have had an amazing week in throop house cottage, it's an absolutely stunning house and we will definitely be booking again. Fully equipped with everything you need and a few supermarkets in the retail park that's 5 minutes away. Our children loved playing in the stream and seeing all the different animals appearing in the garden- deer, owls, phRead moreeasant, squirrels and we even spotted a kingfisher. There's a lovely nature walk around the back of the house too. We used the house as a base to visit lots of places around dorset, recommendations are milford on sea, beautiful sea to have a dip in and views of the isle of Wight. Ferry from sandbanks (which also has a lovely beach) to swanage, train from Bournemouth to weymouth is a good day out and Poole was really lovely too. Hide
