St Ives has something for everyone, including the Tate Gallery and the home of sculptor Barbara Hepworth, complete with its own sculpture garden where art lovers can enjoy the artist’s work in its own surroundings. Further afield, take a trip to the stunning Minack Theatre (18 miles), an open-air, seaside amphitheatre that hosts a full programme of plays during the spring and summer seasons. Alternatively, head to Porthcurno, Land’s End or St Michael’s Mount in Marazion, all less than 20 miles away. Visit the fishing harbour of Newlyn (10 miles) or stroll along the South West Coast Path.

From a shared service access road you enter Harbour Sands via a communal entrance, head up a flight of stairs into this stylish, light apartment with commanding views across the harbour. The breath-taking views can be soaked up from the huge cushioned window seat. If you can take your eyes away from that view, cosy up on the comfy sofa to watch the Smart TV, or gather round the dining table for a sumptuous meal. The property, whilst good well equipped and comfortable is let down by the entrance, although cleaned every morning (hosed down, disinfected), during the day and evening kitchen rubbish in the form of waste food and liquid continually outside the entrance, on many occasions we had to walk through liquid food waste to access the property. Rats were Read moreseen every day by the entrance. I believe this is a serious health hazard. Hide

The location and view is great...but this does come with some compromises which you should consider before going: 1) car parking space is a fair walk away up a steep hill and is a fairly shifty looking place - most parking is uphill to be fair. 2) entrance is down a back alley full of bins from the restaurants, with lots of people hanging around frRead moreom the business there. 3) There is noise well into the night as the restaurants tidy up and empty glass bottles into the bins and pressure washing the grills of the fryers etc. Also, the communal entrance can be very noisy at night depending on who your neighbours are...all flats using the entrance pass your front door - we might just have had noisy neighbours that week 4) the place seems hot all the times especially at night which i assume is because the bedrooms are above the chip shop kitchen below. 5) there is a near constant audience outside the front of the flat in the evening as people wait for their food to be ready from the chip shop and pizza places. 6) the place is quite small for the cost, compared to other places sliggtly away from the sea front. The place was a little unclean when we arrived, some of the bulbs were out in the bathroom and it felt a little tired... But i would assume that is not always the case. Maybe the cleaners were in a rush the week we stayed. Please also be aware that the TV is not a smart tv or dvd options for the wetter evenings with the kids. Great view of the harbour and the RNLI station and we enjoyed watching them bringing the rescue boat back into the boat house. The beaches, shops and restaurants are all close by...which is great in a lovely place like St Ives. Hide

Obviously the alleyway approach cant be controlled by the owner. Unfortunately the smells and mess left by the various restaurants leaves a lot to be desired.

Living area is great with the spectacular views viewed from a very large window seat, feels spacious and has comfortable furniture. Be aware that the car parking space whilst useful isnt nearby it is a good 10-15mins and up at the top of the town
