Mousehole is a small fishing port on the south western coast of Cornwall, about 3 miles south of Penzance and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The harbour is the focal point, offering picture-perfect views and serving as a hub for local fishing activities. One of the notable features of Mousehole is the quaint and charming streets lined with traditional stone cottages retaining an old-world charm. It’s a popular place for artists and photographers due to its scenic beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Nature lovers will appreciate Mousehole’s stunning coastal scenery and the opportunities for coastal walks and exploration. The area is also home to various bird species and marine life, making it a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts. Mousehole has an excellent bus service into Penzance making it easy to leave your car behind and explore Cornwall by public transport. Porthcurno (8.7 miles), home of the outdoor, cliff-side Minack Theatre, is worth a visit to watch a show, and the fairy tale St Michael’s Mount at Marazion (6.3 miles) is not to be missed. Situated in a row of granite cottages, just a short distance from the harbour, this property blends a traditional frontage combined with a modern interior. Its convenient location allows for easy access to the local amenities which are all within walking distance.

As you enter through the front door, you’ll find an entrance hall with a staircase leading to the bedrooms. On the ground floor awaits the living room, featuring a dining table and chairs for three. Here you can gather together around the Smart TV on the comfy sofa and two armchairs. Alternatively, curl up with a good book and bask in the relaxation while adjusting the mood lighting to your liking. Adjacent to the living room is a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances. This also provides access to a cloakroom with WC and a washing machine. On the first floor you’ll discover the single bedroom and shower room. Moving up to the next level, under the cosy eaves is the delightful king-size bedroom. Velux windows allow plenty of light in and offer rooftop views and glimpses of the sea beyond, adding to the charming atmosphere of the cottage.

Stepping out of the kitchen’s back door, there’s a charming courtyard with a raised decked area adorned with rattan seating and pretty planting. This is shared with neighbouring cottages. It’s a delightful spot to enjoy a peaceful morning coffee bathed in the warm sun whilst you contemplate and make plans for the day ahead. Passing through the gate you can follow a path leading down to the heart of the village.

We have stayed in many cottages throughout Cornwall, and without doubt, Agan Chi has been our best experience to date, in terms of standard of interior design layout, facilities, and decor . All were of an exceptional standard, as was the service provided by holidaycottages.

Excellent cottage and it's facilities. Very close to the harbour, shops, restaurants and pub. We recommend the mousehole bus that arrives at the harbour about every 20 minutes and takes you along the coast to Newlyn and Penzance. (It stops at Penzance Station where we caught another bus to St Michael's Mount).
