Sleeping up to four adults and two children, The Swallows Nest is situated in a rural location on a working farm right on the Devon/Cornwall border, with far-reaching views across the Ham Valley and Launceston and bordering both the rivers Carey and Tamar. Just a short drive away is Lifton Strawberry Fields Farm Shop and Homeleigh Garden Centre, both within 2 miles. A little further afield is Roadford Lake Activity Centre (9 miles), where you can have a go at a variety of water sports and land based activities. Waiting to be explored are Bodmin Moor, the Tamar Valley, and Dartmoor National Park, all within 16 miles and the Tamara Coast to Coast Way goes straight past the farm. If you enjoy the sea, head north and visit Bude, pretty Clovelly, or spectacular Hartland Point, all within 30 miles. Other local attractions include Launceston (2 miles), a bustling market town with an original Norman castle, and the Port City of Plymouth (27 miles), with its rich maritime history.

As you enter the kitchen, you can't help but gaze down in awe at the old well that the owners have lovingly kept, with lighting to create even more magic! The kitchen is the heart of the house, with a cosy wood burner and high chairs set around the sociable kitchen island, where you can congregate and enjoy family meals and drinks. The kitchen has ample storage space and is well-equipped for your enjoyment. Head through to the lounge and relax on the comfy sofas and watch a movie together on the Smart TV provided. Patio doors lead out from here onto your decked area with wonderful field views for miles. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, one king-size, one double, and a bunk room suitable for children aged 12 or under. The king-size and double bedrooms both have smart TVs. The family bathroom has a great walk-in power shower to relieve any aching muscles after a day out exploring.

Outside you have a wonderful area to relax and have meals al fresco as well as a welcoming hot tub, with views out over the fields. In the springtime, you can check in on the cute lambs that are on your doorstep of this working farm.

Myself and my wife had a long weekend to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and also took our 11 year old and 2 year old boys along. Both the location and the property were perfect, the hosts had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and the only regret we had was that we had not booked to stay longer. We hope to make the SwallowsRead more Nest an annual tradition to mark our wedding anniversary! Hide

Cottage was really nice and clean. Perfect in every way and met all our expectations. Kids had a brilliant time too, couldnt ask for anything more.

The hosts were great - available if we needed anything but giving us privacy. They were proactive in making sure we had everything we needed and left us a lovely cream tea welcome hamper and some complementary fresh eggs, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed - thank you. The property itself was spotless and had everything you would need for a home Read moreaway from home. The location was very private with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. It is conveniently situated on the border between Devon and Cornwall so within easy reach of some lovely places to visit. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here. Hide

The property was exactly as described, modern and very clean with plenty of space. Everything you would need for a break away. Host was very helpful, especially when we needed to stay an extra night due to Storm Ciarn. We had a lovely stay at The Swallows Nest. Unfortunately the heating wasnt working and the log burner had been broken by previous guest but as soon as I asked for extra heaters the owner was extremely accommodating and went and got some for us. The heating was then fixed on our third day whilst we were out exploring so didnt disrupt us. The house wRead moreas immaculate and had everything needed for our stay, we even managed to make a full roast dinner for 6. Lots of good quality towels and bedding and beds were comfortable. The cream tea hamper on arrival was much appreciated and delicious and the hot tub was a lovely touch. Thanks for a lovely stay, would highly recommend Hide
