We had a fabulous stay at Hollyside Cottage which is cosy yet spacious, with comfortable sofas, as was the main bed, and a lovely big bathroom with a large, good walk-in shower. It was clean and had everything we needed. Being able to park right outside the front of the property was very useful and the garden at the rear was private and quiet withRead more good furniture. A note for dog owners though is although we found it safe for our dog, it is possible to reach the beck at the bottom so isn't escape proof! The village itself is wonderful and quiet (out of season as understand it can be very busy with tourists in summer) and the locals very friendly. The cafs were really nice as was the pub but you need to book well in advance if you want to eat there, but there are even better pubs in nearby villages, and we were told the pub will have new owners soon so things may change. It's a wonderful location for the moors, the coast and places like Castle Howard and are already planning on going back. Thanks for a wonderful stay! Hide

Lovely cottage with a secure private rear garden ideal for summer evenings, never needed the car during the week as there are numerous walks from the door. The village has coffee shops, a pub and a museum which are all worth a visit. Would love to return to this cottage in the future, thanks very much to Rachel and her team

We really enjoyed our holiday at the cottage. Location excellent for us and dog could safety go round into back garden. I would suggest leveling the area outside the back patio area. It could be quite dangerous for older people tripping on uneven area and they could have serious injuries.

We were delighted with the garden, the privacy, the location. Very grateful for the welcome basket and all the comforts of the cottage, especially the blankets as the weather was a little cool for the time of year. The traffic was a bit noisy at times but that's to be expected.

The cottage was lovely and cosy, with the addition of an open fire on cold evenings. A well equipped, comfortable place with great views of the village green. The rear garden having a good selection of outdoor furniture is a great little sun trap with the beck running at the bottom of the garden.
