Cottage and rooms were better than the website pictures. A few minor niggles with waste bags and some basic kitchen cleaning products.

House is really clean and spacious, enough room for 6 guests. The house itself is gorgeous, the outside area is also lovely, we spent most evenings playing catch or frisbee with our two children. Short stroll to the Cornish Arms, you will need to book here as it does get very busy. The fish and chip shop in St Merryn is a slow 15 min walk, highly rRead moreecommend. All in all we loved the house and the week we had at Cataclew. Hide

We had a great week at Cataclew. A lovely modern cottage with lots of space both inside and out. Great location near some really good beaches and coastal walks. Finding The Cornish Arms at the end of our lane was a bonus for the occasional evening meals (including wood fired pizza) and drinks.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful June week at Cataclew. It's one of several recently-built rental additions to this large property, so all the equipment is modern and new. Each bedroom is en-suite and has a TV, so ideal for families. There is plenty of parking and outside space to relax and/or families to play. It is ideally located for walking, Read moreparticularly on the SW coastal path. At least seven wonderful beaches within a 10 minute drive, and Padstow similarly close. St Merryn centre is an easy 10-15 minute walk, with petrol, general store, bakery, several restaurants/pubs, and a couple of takeaways. The area will get busy in the school holidays, but nothing like as bad as Newquay to the south or Polzeath to the north. We love this area, and will definitely be back. Just to be aware though that, like most of Cornwall, beach parking is very expensive, and you will pay up to 50p a time to use the toilets. Hide
