Nestled on the picturesque south coast of Cornwall, Fowey is a charming, vibrant town that captivates visitors with its enchanting character and breathtaking surroundings. Steeped in history and maritime heritage, Fowey’s winding streets, adorned with colourful cottages and quaint shops, lead down to its bustling harbour, where sailboats gently sway in the tide. The town exudes a sense of tranquility with panoramic views of the estuary and lush green hills providing a serene backdrop. Whether exploring the narrow lanes, enjoying freshly caught seafood at a waterfront restaurant or embarking on a scenic boat ride along the river, Fowey offers a delightful escape for those seeking a perfect blend of coastal beauty, cultural richness and charm. It draws people who love to hike the South West Coast Path or take advantage of the water activities available locally. Families love the beach at Readymoney Cove – there really is something for everyone here.

Located on the elegant Esplanade in an elevated position overlooking the River Fowey is this spacious home set across three levels with all front-facing rooms benefiting from scenic water views. From the street a series of steps and a sloping front path brings you to the first decking area and the main entrance door. Enter into a bright and airy space with an open and inviting feel and you’ll be drawn to throw open the French doors and let the fresh seaside air in. There’s a large dining table with room for all to gather for extended mealtimes or family games and two tub chairs perfectly positioned to allow for sitting and soaking up the maritime scene ahead. The kitchen is set to the rear and is extremely well-equipped with all appliances needed to allow for a comfortable stay. This is a real home-from-home and leaving this lovely house at the end of your stay will not be easy. The first of the four bedrooms is found on this level and provides a double bed, plenty of clothes storage and an en suite shower room. Moving upstairs you enter a bright living room with plenty of comfy, soft seating for gathering round the Smart TV for movie nights. The second double bedroom and bunk room are also located on this level along with the main family bathroom. French doors from the double room lead to the rear deck. The rear deck also can be accessed externally via the side of the property. On the second floor, and with the best outlook, is the king bedroom with a large picture window providing extensive views across the river to Polruan, out to sea and St Catherine’s Castle in the distance. Two wicker chairs are the perfect spot to dwell with a good book. This room is lovely and private with its own en suite shower room. There are some areas of limited head height due to its position under the eaves but it’s a large room with fabulous views and a dedicated TV for lazy lie-ins.

Embrace the coastal setting as you seamlessly extend your dining experience to the front deck, accompanied by a charming stone barbecue that invites budding chefs to unleash their creativity. Once dinner is complete, retreat to the tranquil privacy of the walled rear garden where a soothing hot tub awaits, allowing you to unwind and contemplate your plans for the following day.

  • 4 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 2 doubles, 1 set of bunk beds – suitable for children only (top bunk has restricted head height)

We loved the property! The location was great. The views were amazing! Especially from the living room and master bedroom. My son and his partner stayed in the ground double room and did note the house next to the property could we into the bedroom from their balcony. Just be mindful garage is a 10min walk away, although you can pull up outside the house for a few mins to drop off your luggage. I would highly recommend! Hide

This is a lovely house in a great location. The views over the river are beautiful. If any of your party had mobility issues they need to be aware of the access which is steep and slippery when wet. The parking was easy though a bit of a walk but that gave us a bit of extra exercise which wasnt a bad thing! The garage isnt an option for anyone Read morewith a larger car. The enclosed rear space in the house made it dog friendly. Hide

Our second visit to Harbours Reach. A lovely house in an excellent, elevated location. Easy walk to centre of Fowey, small beach and paddling pool nearby and Readymoney Cove a 10 minute walk.

We had a lovely holiday, house is in a great position close to the town and Readymoney Cove. The outside areas of the house particularly the area by the hot tub could do with sprucing up, the table and chairs were dusty and dirty on arrival. We swept the decking ourselves. Only appeared to be one wine glass that wasn't plastic, not sure if we misseRead mored the others? Can understand the need for these outside but would like glass to use inside the house. Not many pans if you want to cook meals. Hide
