There was no welcome at this cottage. No-one had been in for some time, that was obvious by the hundreds of dead flies on the windowsills and carpets. The heating had not been put on, the cottage was freezing cold on arrival, fridge was off. Only 2 loo rolls, ran out by the end of the week. By the first evening, hundreds of sleeping wasps had wRead moreoken up and were crawling round the carpets and flying round the bedroom - we evicted over 70 on our first 2 days and many more in the ensuing ones, still getting them out on our last morning. No tea or coffee on arrival, but congealed coffee in the bottom of a jar in the pantry. The garden is not dog friendly. It is lovely, but the bottom end is just undergrowth leading to other gardens and our dog got out on the first morning and was missing for 40 minutes. Neighbours told us this has happened before and needs sorting. It is a sweet cottage in a quiet location, with lovely dog-walks around, but unless the owners were to improve their welcome, I could not recommend this cottage. Very disappointing for the money. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. Well investigate this right away to make sure everythings in place for the next guest Hide

Charming old cottage in a beautiful setting, located centrally for exploring the area. We found a lovely circular walk for the dogs from the door. Everything you could possibly need was supplied, an eclectic mix of very old and new. The bathroom and toilet has been renovated, the bed linen and towels excellent. It would benefit from a spring cleaRead moren both inside and out to make it a lovely holiday cottage. Hide

A beautiful cottage in a very quiet location. Everything you need is provided and the cottage is lovely and warm. We loved the original furniture especially the wardrobe. Lovely big, secure garden which the dog really enjoyed. We had a fabulous October break and would love to return in the summer to make the most of the garden.
