This traditional Dales stone cottage is located in the tranquil Wensleydale village of Stalling Busk, in the heart of the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park. The charming market town of Hawes is just over 5 mile away and hosts an excellent selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Foodies will be further delighted with the Wensleydale Creamery and Raydale Preserves visitor centres and Hawes also hosts a street market on Tuesdays, For walkers, Hawes’ National Park Visitor Centre offers information on local must-see natural attractions such as the Semer Water and Aysgarth Falls – a favourite of Wordsworth and Turner – and the countless beautiful routes through the Dales. Drive east and less than 9 miles from your doorstep is Aysgarth, perhaps best-known for its three-stepped Falls; you might not want rain while you’re on holiday, but it’s after a heavy shower that this natural delight is at its most dramatic!

Step inside this homely cottage and into the brightly lit open-plan living space. Take a seat on the handy bench to kick off your walking boots before heading through to the lounge and kitchen. This comfortable room enjoys plenty of natural light and comfy sofas that have a wood burner to warm you on chilly evenings whilst watching your favourite program on the TV. Continue into the kitchen which comes fully equipped for home-cooked meals, enjoy breakfast at the breakfast bar, or gather around the table in the dining room, here you’ll find a spacious dining table that invites you to sit down and raise a glass together. Upstairs, you’ll find two well-proportioned bedrooms, a king-size room where you can enjoy the views out your window or open the byre door and have a quiet moment on the chair at the top of the stairs admiring the views. The second room is a twin room. Take a refreshing shower in the morning in the shower room before heading out for your dales walk.

On summer mornings, enjoy your morning cup of tea sitting at the front south-facing courtyard, where you're sure to see some grazing sheep and busy farmers. The rear garden is the perfect place to sit and unwind after a long day exploring and listening to the local nature that surrounds you.

A lovely cottage with walks with your dogs from the very doorstep. Its warm, comfortable , spacious and well equipped. The hosts live next door and are available if needed but not intrusive in any way in fact we only met twice. If you dont mind driving to the shops or pub and like seclusion I heartily recommend this place.

The cottage is on a working farm in a very small hamlet, it feels very rural and remote so excellent for a getaway. The scenery from the farm is breathtaking even in December. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs. One of our favourite things about the cottage was seeing the chickens cluck about next door. We also got to see lots of sheeRead morep and there are hares which bounce over the dry stone walls. 10/10 for an excellent countryside experience. The cottage has a wood burner and wood and firefighters were left so we could light a fire from the off. The cottage was very cosy and was well equipped - my husband was able to make a Christmas dinner with no issues. The WiFi coverage doesnt reach the whole house so we while we could go on the internet if we wanted to, we ended up spending a lot of time off our phones which ended up being quite a pleasant digital detox. The nearby town of Hawes is just lovely and wed recommend the Yorkshire Dales Countryside museum. Aysgarth falls are also lovely. The owners were friendly and helpful - we were able to check in early as we arrived on Christmas Eve. Overall we had a wonderful Christmas staying here and would recommend. This is a great property to explore the Yorkshire dales and/or to have an escape from every day life in the countryside. A really charming setting. Hide

Super cottage in remote peaceful location. Only curlews and sheep to be heard! Wonderfully comfy bed and sofa. Very spacious aside from bathroom which is tiny and a little tired with no natural light. I think it would be a struggle for a very large (height or girth) person to use loo or shower.
