Continue through an archway to find a spacious and well-equipped kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with shower over the bath and WC. Head up the stairs and take the time to notice the exposed beam and vaulted ceiling. Here, you’ll find a family bathroom with a freestanding bath and a huge shower, a twin bedroom, a king-size bedroom, and another king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Outside, there’s a private patio, perfect for fabulous evenings in. You’ll see a dining area, and then a hot tub for a long, slow soak. Guests have access to shared grounds, including a play area for children and three lakes for fishing.
You’ll be staying in the centre of Devon, surrounded by beautiful countryside and fascinating history. The Stone Lane Gardens, 4.5 miles away, are well worth a visit, and you’ll see sculptures and rare plants. Further along there’s Castle Drogo, 6.5 miles, a mock medieval castle with extensive grounds, situated on an ancient gorge. If you’d like a day on the coast, try Dawlish (26.5 miles), a bustling seaside town with a main beach and a few quieter spots, plus pubs and fish and chip shops.
