We spent a lovely weekend at the cottage with four generations of our family. It was the ideal location for walking, swimming and sitting in the sun! Spotlessly clean and with everything you could need to enjoy a perfect break.

Seven of us spent a short break over New Year at High Green Cottage. The cottage was everything we could have wished it to be. It was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and was very cosy and warm. The cottage is in a very pretty, small village with two pubs within easy walking distance. Unfortunately, the weather wasnt always kind during Read moreour stay, but this just gives us a good excuse to go back! The scenery is truly stunning. We love walking and we were spoilt for choice. We got out and about during the days and spent the evenings cosied up in front of the log burner playing games. On New Years Eve, we cooked a 3 course meal and the kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We ranged from 10 years old to 56 years old and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and all agreed that we would love to come back.maybe to see it during the summer months sometime! I dont hesitate to recommend this property, its a beauty. Hide

This property has to rate as one of the best we have ever experienced in nearly fifty years of self catering holidays. Beautifully renovated the house is spacious, welcoming, warm and so well equipped. The roll-top free standing bath was a fabulous indulgence after a long day out walking. Our eleven year old granddaughter was delighted with the sRead moreingle split level bedroom/office complete with walk-in wardrobe. The welcome tray is a lovely touch and reflects the care and consideration shown by the owners. We spent many hours in front of the log burner, playing boardgames and enjoying a drink or two in the evening. For those who enjoy the spectacle of dark skies and stargazing this is the place for you. Arkengarthdale and Swaledale are truly impressive places and the information from the owners regarding walks was outstanding. Our family ages range from eleven to seventy eight and there was some thing for everyone. We do not hesitate to recommend the property and we will certainly be returning. Hide

We have just spent the most wonderful week at High Green Cottage which I discovered by accident when researching my family history in the area. I Googled High Green thinking I was researching a farm, when this lovely cottage popped up. The cottage is set on the village green in Langthwaite, Arkengarthdale. I believe it is made from two cottageRead mores knocked into one and was originally built in the 1600s but in the 18th/19th centuries was used by lead miners and farm workers, so lots of history there. The owners have done a wonderful job in making this cottage into a lovely home base for exploring the area. The living room is a nice size, with three comfortable sofas around a wood burning fire - very cozy and a dining table at the end closest the kitchen. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and there was nothing I needed that I couldn't find in the cupboards. There is a dishwasher and washing machine with detergent supplied if needed. There are four bedrooms, three double and one single, all very new and very comfortable. The single room is entered via an office, the desk by the window overlooking the fields and moorland at the back of the property - my daughter liked that room very much. Double room at the back has a small ensuite which is useful. Master bedroom overlooks the green and moorland which is stunning. All in all a fabulous place to spend some down time in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The owners are very friendly and made the effort to communicate with us both before our visit and afterwards to make sure our stay was satisfactory. I am already recommending it to family and friends. There is enough parking outside for your car - at one point we had three cars parked outside with no problem. I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. Hide

This was one of THE most wonderful, beautiful and well located cottages that we have had the chance to stay in. The location, in Swaledale, is perfect for exploring, the owners were outstanding with their communication and kindness and the cottage was exceptionally well equipped, comfortable and cosy. You just couldn't ask for more!!

We had a wonderful family holiday at High Green Cottage. The property is beautiful decorated, spotlessly clean and is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed the cosy living room with lovely fairy lights and log burner going most evenings! (Having a supply of logs with an honesty box was incredibly handy!) The views fRead morerom the patio and out of all the windows are simply breathtaking. There is an abundance of walks (many including pubs!) from the doorstep and plenty to do in the local area. We enjoyed walking along the river and a few pints in The Red Lion. We would certainly recommend this property and will definitely be returning! Hide

This is a gorgeous house in excellent condition in a very special spot. Super well equipped, stylish and comfortable, lively outdoor area and the brilliant CB Inn within walking distance all spot on! Only thing missing was a cheesegrater fautless otherwise!
