Sheringham is a thriving seaside resort on the popular North Norfolk coast that has something to offer all year round. Tennis, golf, sea fishing, the beach, its own Little Theatre and the National Trust's Sheringham Park are just some of the local attractions. Discover the coastal footpath, which is part of the National Coast Path and takes you to Cromer in the east and Salthouse and beyond in the west. Visit the sandy beaches of Cromer, with its famous pier and shows, or travel a little south to the beaches at West Runton, East Runton, Overstrand or Mundesley, for miles of sand and not many people! The famous Poppy Line Steam Railway runs from the town centre along the coast to the elegant Georgian town of Holt, with its numerous boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, for a great day out and there is a main line train that can take you to Norwich for a day of cultural sightseeing, shopping and a super restaurant selection. Ornithologists can enjoy a trip to the marshes and Norfolk Wildlife Trust centre at Cley-next-the-Sea and if you want to visit the largest common and grey seal colony in this part of the world, take a trip from either Blakeney or Morston quays. There are some delightful historic houses in the area at Felbrigg and Blickling, run by the National Trust and with so much to do in the area one visit is probably not going to be enough.
