From the doorstep you have access to the winding paths of Westleton Heath that meander down towards the Heritage Coast and RSPB Minsmere and is a real haven for wildlife lovers. There is a beautiful circular walk of around 8.5 miles, that explores all this area with a stop at a delicious pub halfway, as well as a wander along the beach at Dunwich. In Westleton village itself, there is an excellent pub (sister to the pub in Dunwich) serving fantastic food, a small convenience store with post office and a tearoom filled with yummy homemade cakes. Westleton is great for exploring the heritage coast, being situated between Aldeburgh (9miles) and Southwold (9 miles). Closer still (6.5 miles) is the stunning coastal village of Walberswick, which has a great deli, two pubs and local shops to peruse. You can also try your luck at catching crabs along the creeks and bridges, so bring your crab lines and buckets - a definite must for your stay.

Sitting in a quiet spot in a leafy lane within the village this family holiday home for six is the perfect escape for those looking to be close by to the sea whilst in a peaceful setting. Formerly two cottages that have been combined into one, this deceptively spacious property has all you could need for your stay. The cosy sitting room boasts a roaring wood burner perfect for breaks in the winter, whilst a south facing sunroom is the perfect place to relax in during the summer. The kitchen is fully fitted with all appliances and meals can be shared together around the dining table. A handy bedroom is on the ground floor with a small double bed along with a small shower room. Upstairs there are three further bedrooms, two identical king size and a single bedroom with trundle bed underneath and all with access to the family bathroom. This really is the ultimate self-catering holiday home for families, walkers those just wanting to get away from it all, and don’t forget to bring the dog along too!

Outside to the rear of the cottage is a lawn area, beautifully landscaped with a wooden terrace and dining table for alfresco breakfasts, lazy lunches in sun and scrumptious suppers.

What an absolute treasure of a cottage. It had everything we needed, was super comfortable and the downstairs bedroom and bathroom was ideal for my elderly step dad. (Though there is an uneven path to be aware of getting to the front door). This cottage has 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms and is perfect for a larger family. If you are at all interesteRead mored in birds / wildlife - this is right next to Westleton Heath and we lovely hearing Nightingales singing. Great little shop in the village and lots of nice pubs for food not too far away. Worth every penny. Hide

The cottage was the most perfect place for us to spend a few days over new years. It is beautiful, as soon as we arrived and walked down the path to it we loved it. A lot of care and love has gone into the decor and it was impeccably clean. It is so cosy and genuinely felt like a home away from home, so much so most of us wanted to live there! As nRead moreoted by other guests the beds are very comfortable, and it was so quiet we all slept very well. When the sun shone on the conservatory/ garden room it was the perfect place to sit and look at the stunning tree at the bottom of the garden. We enjoyed evenings by the log burner and had a great meal at the Crown 5 mins walk from the cottage. I highly recommend walking across the common and nature reserve to Dunwich beach. Both the walk and the beach are stunning and the Ship, the Crown's sister pub also did good food but I recommend booking as we were lucky to get the last unbooked table! Barry was also fantastic when it came to communication. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful break away to explore beautiful Suffolk. Hide

This was a delightful cottage in a beautiful, friendly location. The double doors opening out onto the garden meant that we could have inside outside existence. Theres lots to see and do in the area. Loads of beautiful walks - wetlands, woodlands and heath.

Great cottage in a lovely quiet village. Good food in The Westleton Crown and enjoyed the fact we could walk directly from the cottage to Dunwich via the Heath. Friendly service in village shop and great Sunday Lunch at the Darsham Fox. Would definitely recommend and visit again

Suffolk Punch Cottage was a delight to stay in, very clean, comfortable & in a peaceful location within the pretty village of Westleton. Secure & pretty garden if you are bringing your dog. Lovely sun room which is a bonus. We recommend the Snug Tea room and The Crown pub in the village (both dog friendly).

Really lovely cosy cottage with an interesting history, especially if you are familiar with Minsmere. Nice walks on the doorstep. Generous welcome pack was appreciated. Westleton is very well placed for visiting many nearby locations like Dunwich, Southwold & Aldeburgh and has a nice pub, shop and tea room.

A lovely hamper provided by the owners was very thoughtful, along with treats for the pooch too. Beautifully decorated for Christmas which was very welcoming on arrival. Very comfortable beds! A lovely house to stay in a great location, wish it had been sunny when we were there and not during a storm. We stayed warm and merry though. (note for others: wifi code only seemed to work for us when scanning the QR code from router, entering the password didn't work)

There were 6 adults in out party we found the cottage comfortable and easily accessible, my elderly mum can't walk very far, the little walk down/up the small sloped road was a challenge for her. But everything else was easy to access.
