Located in the picturesque village of Yoxford, Suffolk, sits this comfortable two-bedroom cottage. The property is the perfect retreat for couples or families looking for tranquillity and easy access to amenities and the Suffolk coastline. Yoxford is a pleasant place for a stroll and is lined with properties dating back to the 14th century. Browse the antique shops or enjoy a bite to eat at one of the cafes or traditional inns and then enjoy a walk through the parklands that surround the village. Minsmere is 4.5 miles from the property, and Aldeburgh (12 miles) and Southwold have many independent shops, an iconic lighthouse, beautiful beach huts, and marsh walking trails (10 miles). The picturesque Suffolk Coast Path (14 miles) connects Covehithe Beach and Benacre National Nature Reserve, both of which are worth a visit. Every August, Yoxford has a highly regarded arts festival.

When you enter this charming cottage, you will find the lounge with exposed wooden beams and a fireplace with a wood burner-effect electric fire, where you can get nice and comfortable and watch a film in front of the TV, a cosy snug area where you can relax and read a book, and a dining area with a table that seats four, which is also a great place to socialise and play some games. Head through to the kitchen, which has everything you could possibly need to prepare some delicious meals. There is a small table in the kitchen with two seats where you can enjoy your meal, or you can return through to the dining room. After a busy day of exploring, climb the stairs to find two cosy bedrooms, one of which is a king-size room with an en-suite bathroom. On this floor, there is also a second bathroom that connects through to the twin bedroom, and both bedrooms offer plenty of storage.

The separate coach house annexe is next to the semi-detached cottage, and you can enter the garden through a passageway past the annexe. The garden is large and has established flowers and shrubbery, and it descends to the River Yox. You can light the BBQ and dine alfresco, or you can head to the bottom of the garden to unwind and read a book in the bespoke gazebo while taking in the views of the water.

Lovely cottage in a great location, especially for birdwatchers like my father and I. Weve stayed in the cottage before so had no hesitation in making a return visit. Characterful property which is very comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. Thank you!

This cosy cottage was unfortunately not appropriate for us as there were too many steps on the ground and upper floors. The staircase was difficult to negotiate with no stable bannister. There were several maintenance issues which required attention - we noted these for the owner in the book provided. As mentioned by other guests a small welcome paRead moreck would have been appreciated. It was the first cottage that we have hired that has not provided one. Access from the road is awkward as local cars are consistently parked either side of the entrance. Entrance to the parking area is restricted due to the turn from the small driveway. Reversing is the only way to exit especially when the annexe guests are also parked. Hide

Not really for anyone with mobility problems. The stairs are awkward with a rope and no handrail. There are steps up or down into each room and also opportunities to bang your head

What a lovely cottage, so cosy and warm and perfect for us and our two children. We came after 3 years of staying in caravans and what an upgrade! So nice to have space and comfort and a great location near to the coffee shop (I spent too much on cappuccinos!) and also easy to get to many great attractions without travelling for miles. The childrenRead more loved the beach at Southwold and the castles at Orford and Framlingham, while we loved Minsmere and Flatford Mill. The house itself had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable and good value for money too. Thank you! Hide

We were expecting to arrive at the cottage shown in picture 35 of the description but found that we were staying in the cottage shown in picture 37, which disappointingly is in front of the annexe (picture 35) right on the very busy A1120. Although the cottage is very nice, it was not the tranquility we were looking for, especially early in the morRead morening. Hide

A comfortable and well equipped cottage, good location for visiting Aldeburgh, Southwold, Leiston (recommend the museum), Halesworth and Snape Maltings. Kings Head pub in Yoxford, excellent meals especially Sunday lunch (need to book).

We found the cottage spacious (2 person). Very clean with most things you need. Convenient for A12. There is a narrow, steep staircase, so not suitable for some people (but it does have a strong cord to hold onto). 1 restaurant in walking distance and some others in 5-10 mins away.

We enjoyed a comfortable stay in February in this property. Although the weather was very cold, the cottage was warm and cosy. It is well located in a quiet village to explore places of interest. The garden is lovely, and we would definitely spend more time out there if we returned later in the year.
