Set opposite the village green in the heart of Chatton, Lime Tree Cottage offers a peaceful base for exploring both the coast and countryside of Northumberland. This small, attractive village has a popular pub and restaurant, village store, and post office all just a short stroll away. You are well placed to enjoy the quiet charm of rural life, with easy access to dramatic castles, sandy beaches, and the open landscapes of the National Park. The nearby market town of Wooler offers independent shops, welcoming cafes, and the new Anglo-Saxon museum and whisky distillery. Walking and cycling routes are in abundance nearby, whether you are climbing Humbleton Hill for panoramic views, exploring the ancient royal site of Ad Gefrin, or heading out into the wild beauty of the Cheviots. The coast is also within easy reach, perfect for day trips to Bamburgh, Holy Island, and Northumberland’s string of breathtaking beaches.

This traditional stone-built cottage enjoys an elevated position with views over the green and surrounding hills, and is accessed via eight stone steps to the front door. Inside, the lounge and dining area is warm and inviting, with two comfortable sofas, a wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace, and a Smart TV for cosy evenings in. A dining table with seating for six offers space for relaxed meals or games together. The stylish kitchen includes everything needed for a self-catered stay, along with an island and bar stools for informal breakfasts or evening drinks. The fully tiled bathroom is also on the ground floor, with a shower over the bath and WC. Upstairs, there are two light and comfortable bedrooms, a cosy double with dual-aspect windows, and a spacious twin, both offering plenty of storage.

Outside, enjoy your morning coffee on the bench overlooking the green, or make the most of warmer days in the rear patio garden with bistro table and chairs. At the end of the shared drive, you’ll find a secure bike and storage room with a tumble dryer and space for your outdoor gear. A new children’s play area just across the road offers a bit of extra fun for families between outings.

Lovely cottage well placed to explore Northumberland with most attractions in a 30 minute radius. Great local pub too.

A comfortable and very well equipped cottage. The location is fabulous for exploring Northumberland, and the childrens park across the road is fabulous. Highly recommend and would stay again.

This is a fabulous cottage in the heart of Chatton. Easy drive to A1 and coast. Lots of fabulous walking in the area. Both the village shop and pub are a huge bonus.

The cottage was set in the beautiful village of Chatton. Everything you could need and the cottage was well presented. The village pub was well worth a visit and didn't disappoint.

Lovely cottage, warm and cosy and provided everything you could possible need for a holiday stay, welcome pack was a nice touch and well needed after a long drive, cottage is in a beautiful village with a fantastic play area for kids, neighbours are very friendly

We had a great stay at the lime tree. Plenty of space for 3 adults, a cosy lounge, well stocked kitchen and the perfect place to explore the beautiful surrounding area
