Gather family or friends for a fun-filled seaside escape at this pair of welcoming holiday homes, accommodating ten guests between them. They’re located near the top of a steep hill in West Looe, one of Cornwall’s most picturesque coastal towns, which is separated from East Looe by the River Looe. Steps lead down to the harbour area (0.5 miles), home to shops, restaurants, characterful narrow lanes and working fishing boats. Pick up freshly caught produce or treat yourself to traditional fish and chips, then head to the sandy main beach (200 metres) for paddling and sunbathing. Stroll along the coast path to Hannafore Beach (1 mile), where low tide reveals an extensive reef dotted with shallow pools – ideal for spotting starfish, crabs, prawns and anemones. Further afield, visit the quaint fishing village of Polperro (5 miles), where higgledy-piggledy streets lead towards another pretty harbour.
Lovingly renovated and presented, this accommodation comprises a spacious three-bedroom house and a single-level two-bedroom apartment. In the house, the stylish kitchen is divided from the lounge by a breakfast bar, while the dining table creates a sociable setting for shared meals. After sunny days out, settle on the fabulous sofas in front of the Smart TV or curl up on the window seat. A utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a separate WC, completes the ground floor. Upstairs, there is a king-size bedroom with a Smart TV, a twin bedroom and a double bedroom, along with two bathrooms. The apartment has an airy open-plan room with an L-shaped kitchen, a dining table for four and two comfortable sofas arranged around another Smart TV. Along the corridor are a sea-facing double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a family shower room.
Outside the house, the enclosed decked terrace has a table and chairs – perfect for laid-back meals in the fresh air – plus a BBQ for sunny-day feasts. The apartment has no private outside space of its own. Two parking spaces are provided in a car park less than 500 metres away. Both properties are approached via numerous steps, and the hillside position may not suit guests with limited mobility.
