The Terrace Barn is a beautifully converted barn, tastefully designed by the owners, set in a peaceful location with beautiful views of the rolling countryside in every direction. Set back from the Masham road down a tree lined lane, Terrace Barn offers you a quiet and private stay with long pastoral views across the fields towards the picture postcard village of West Tanfield.

Relaxing on the terrace, guests can enjoy the view and beautiful sunsets over Well Bank to the west. The name ‘Terrace Barn’ derives from the Georgian name given to the clifftop riverside walk along the River Ure which runs alongside the field directly outside the property. The Terrace is part of a circular walk called the Ripon Rowel Walk and gives you the chance to stop for a bite to eat at one of the three local pubs in North Stainley or West Tanfield before your return journey. The barn is also on a former Tour De France route, which makes it a great base for cyclists as well as walkers.

Built of local honey coloured stone, the Terrace Barn has been described as having a French rustic aesthetic from the outside. The interior on the other hand, whilst being cosy, is anything but rustic, providing an exceptionally high standard of accommodation. Italian Cassina bendy back settees and the iconic Italian Artemide standard light in the living room, along with handmade wrought iron dining table and chairs, designed by the owner, lit with a hand-blown glass pendant light. The rooms are decorated with original artwork and studio ceramics throughout by renowned artists and makers.

The accommodation is well laid out all on the ground floor, making it accessible for those with limited mobility, with an entrance lobby and boot & coat cupboard, a large open plan living/dining room with cosy log burning stove and glass door to a paved terrace with seating. A well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedroom with en-suite and separate shower room and WC.

This lovely barn conversion would make a fabulous retreat for couples who enjoy the Yorkshire Dales. Whatever your interests, there is something for everyone; historic castles and ruins, abbeys, the Dales and Moors National Parks, walking, cycling, superb local market towns with the very best Yorkshire produce and of course, restaurants and tea rooms too numerous to mention.

GROUND FLOOR:

Front door leads to Lobby/Coat/Boot Cupboard

Shower Room: Shower, wash hand basin, shaver point and WC.

Living/Dining Room: This room has a Mediterranean feel to it with the designer lighting, two Italian sofas to cosy up on in front of the wood burning stove, whilst watching your favourite film on Netflix. The wrought iron and glass dining table and chairs and the artwork complete this room.

Kitchen: Chalky blue shaker style units and solid oak worktops, electric oven and induction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer make this a very stylish and well-equipped kitchen with everything you need for your stay, including a 'butcher block' table with stools allowing for kitchen chats or breakfast bar.

Bedroom: A wonderfully light room with a solid oak king size bed, oak bedside drawers and matching wardrobe and chest of drawers giving you plenty of storage for all your holiday clothes.

En-suite: Bath with overhead shower and glass screen, shaving point, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and WC and shelves for your wash bags completes this room.

Outside: To the rear of the property is a small terrace with BBQ, table and chairs where you can sit and watch the sun setting, there is also an enclosed grassed area for dogs, or if you are nature loving, look out for the many species of birds and wildlife in the fields and by the river.

Pets: One dog welcome. The owners have a Labrador called Rivelyn who is friendly.

Parking: Private off-road parking directly outside the property 22kWh high speed EV charger available, charges paid directly to owner before departure.

Heating: Underfloor heating throughout the property with the addition of a log burning stove in the living/dining room.

Electric Charging Point: There is a high speed three phase 22kwh EV charging point where guests can charge their vehicles, payment is made directly with the homeowner.

Green Credentials: Terrace Barn incorporates many environmental elements including a borehole, a ground source heat pump providing domestic hot water and heating, a whole house heat recovery ventilation system, high levels of insulation, high performance triple and double-glazed Danish doors and windows and underfloor heating, resulting in a comfortable environment which remains cool in summer and warm in winter, even on a cold winter's day it feels like a spring day inside.

Very well appointed accommodation, in a tranquil countryside setting. Ideally situated for visiting the Yorkshire dales and several local attractions. Easily accessible down a well made up drive, set far enough away from the road to feel remote. Would recommend for couples looking for a peaceful retreat.
