Set within a 250 acre farm, including a 70 acre woodland for guests to explore and catch sight of deer and the wonderful wildlife that make this area their home, this beautiful converted barn really is the perfect escape to recharge your batteries, relax and enjoy a taste of country living.  

Immerse yourself in this beautiful setting, where this gorgeous holiday home, sleeping up to six guests, caters for all the family. As you enter The Cartlodge, you are welcomed into an open plan social hub, with a comfortable seating area, dining space and modern farmhouse style kitchen. Perfectly positioned windows allow natural light to flood in, as well as two double French doors leading out to the terrace with views of the garden and fields beyond. Alfresco dining for lazy lunches and delicious dinners will be easy here with great inside-outside living.

Upstairs plays host to the three generous bedrooms, all with their very own bathrooms, creating the ideal getaway for families or friends. If this wasn’t already enough, this rural retreat boasts a great outside space with an enclosed garden, luxurious hot tub to soak in under the inky blue night sky. If you have bought your four-legged friend along for the holiday, then there are plenty of wonderful walks directly from you doorstep with four ending at local pubs serving great food!

Shelland is a small hamlet in the heart of the Suffolk countryside with a church and many public footpaths connecting to the surrounding villages. Just 4 miles away is Stowmarket which has supermarkets, eateries, and independent shops. Bury St Edmunds is only a 20-minute drive away and has an abundance of history and fantastic restaurants.

The property was very nice, both historic and modern inside. The location was excellent, we saw numerous hares, deer, birds of prey, game birds etc. The hot tub really was a nice addition. The location is great to getting around Suffolk, we did Bury St Edmunds, Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge to see the Saxon ship, Ipswich and Felixstowe (Landguard Fort). HRead moreighly recommended!! Hide

The Cartlodge is perfect. From the spacious bedrooms to the well equipped kitchen and of course the beautiful views. It was perfect for everyone in our party as we could enjoy family time with meals all together in the dining area, time as a couple relaxing in the hot tub and time in the large outdoor garden area with our young child watching the wRead moreildlife. The Cartlodge was also in the perfect location. We were close to Ipswich where we could visit friends and also close to the train station meaning we could travel to London. It is the perfect, peaceful, tranquil spot and we absolutely fell in love. We hope to return again in the near future! Hide

The Cartlodge has everything you need for a nice relaxing holiday with beautiful views from the garden and the added bonus of using the private woodland for walking the dog. We have had a fantastic week and will definitely return again.
