Paddy Waddell’s Rest is a beautifully refurbished barn in the owners grounds of RakeFarm. Named after Paddy Waddell’s Railway which, although was never completed, left the grounds with a fascinating history and a beautiful bridge marking the end of the line.
Situated in the pretty village of Glaisdale, surrounded by fields and vast moorland, yet less than half an hour's drive from the historic fishing town of Whitby. Other quaint coastal villages are also close by, such as Robin Hoods Bay, Sandsend and Staithes. Coming away from the coast, you will also find the famous country villages of Grosmont, home to the spectacular North York Moors Railway which was featured in the Harry Potter movies, & Goathland, made famous by the TV series Heartbeat.
This lovely barn conversion would make the perfect retreat for couples to relax or explore the North York Moors National Park. The property is an ideal base for walking and has many mapped routes, as well as the popular ‘Coast to Coast’ walk. Cycling is well catered for and Rake Farm is only a few miles from the Yorkshire Cycle Hub, the heart of a thriving cycling community for bikers and off road enthusiasts. Fishing is also popular around the area, due to the River Esk passing through the village.
