Nestled amongst the rolling countryside of Suffolk and situated in the heart of the Wool Towns, The Corn Barn is your next Suffolk staycation oozing with characterful charm, period features and gorgeous views.

Positioned on a family farm and converted from a former threshing barn, this glorious home has been lovingly renovated and restored to create a wonderful countryside bolthole for six guests. With three spacious bedrooms on offer, you will be spoilt for choice upon arrival. The Corn Barn is full of period features, such as exposed timber beams, beautifully fused with stylish yet classic interiors where modern meets traditional. At the hub of the home is a stunning cobbled floor living room with dual aspect wood burner at its centre. A mezzanine floor sits over this area and is a great additional fall out space to read, play games or simply relax. There is also a large dining table situated in front of a set of French doors that lead out to a beautiful garden.

The contemporary kitchen has all the mod-cons you could wish for, with integrated appliances, Delonghi bean to cup coffee machine and wine fridge. Throw open the bifold doors and bring the outside in, with a stunning enclosed rockery garden perfect for enjoying beautiful breakfasts together.

Kersey, arguably the prettiest and most charming village in Suffolk, with its famous ford, or ‘the splash’ as the locals call it, flowing through the centre, its magnificent church standing tall at the top of the hill, its brilliant pub or even its famous history being a part of the TV series Lovejoy. This gorgeous countryside village is just a short stroll away, along the footpath adjacent to the property. Kersey Mill which is packed with independent shops, eateries and amenities is just a walk down the lane.

Considered one of Britain's 10 best villages, Kersey is a quintessential medieval village. In the heart of the Suffolk countryside just a couple of miles from Hadleigh, Kersey is one of England's finest chocolate box villages with a stunning hilltop church at one end, and an ancient ford running through its centre.

Surrounding Kersey are miles of quiet country lanes, ideal for walkers, cyclists and country lovers. Kersey is in the centre of the area known as the wool towns. Step back to the 15th century, Kersey was made famous and prosperous with the production of "Kersey cloth". Stroll around the village of Kersey and you will see large first floor windows on the early Tudor houses; these were created to provide as much light as possible for the weavers who worked in their own homes. The ford, or 'the Splash' as the locals call it, is a tributary of the River Brett which flows through Hadleigh. It's a lovely spot in the summer and great for children who can paddle or feed the ducks.

The Corn Barn itself is attractive and well located, but our experience as dog owners was less relaxing than expected. Although the cottage is advertised as dog-friendly, the front lawned garden borders a public footpath on one side and the owners driveway on the other, so there is regular passing traffic close to the property. The back courtyard wRead moreas lovely, by we didn't use it because it's overlooked by one of the neighbouring houses. Our dogs occasionally barked at passers-by, and we were made to feel quite uncomfortable about this during our stay. Because of the layout and expectations around noise, we would only recommend this property for exceptionally quiet or non-reactive dogs. Hide
