Located in an exclusive and select development of similar lodge homes, Oakrise is a wonderfully peaceful and luxurious retreat on the outskirts of one of north Norfolk’s most enviable locations – Burnham Market.  The interior is particularly well designed with space and supreme comfort in mind. The open plan living area is flooded with light and leads out to a private patio area to the front of the lodge with garden furniture, that is a sunny spot to sit in.  The modern kitchen is beautifully equipped and just the spot to cook up some of Norfolk’s famous produce.  Two gorgeous bedrooms invite you to enjoy a snuggly nights’ sleep so you can wake refreshed and ready to explore what the next day has to offer. With your own parking space and landscaped gardens throughout, the atmosphere here is one of quiet reflection. The village itself is within easy walking distance of your lodge home and has numerous award-winning restaurants, great delicatessens, a bakery, a fishmongers, butchers, independent fashion and interiors shops and a good slice of café culture.   There is a laid-back air about the place that will sink into your bones, and you are sure to be back for more. Shops:/Pub/Restaurants: within walking distance

Beyond the village, you are truly in Nelson country and the area is ripe for exploration.  There are two wonderful beaches within easy reach; Holkham in one direction and Brancaster in the other. The tide goes out a long way and leaves behind glorious stretches of sand, backed by dunes and, at Holkham, pine woods too.  At Brancaster there is a wonderful links golf course but do watch out for the incoming tide and a further golf course at Hunstanton. Sailing courses are available at Brancaster and the beaches at Brancaster and Heacham are great for sand surfing and kite flying. Don't miss out on fish and chips in Wells-next-the-Sea, this popular resort is always bustling and is the ideal place for a spot of crabbing. This part of the coast also offers some stupendous sunsets, which are a photographer’s dream.  Year round the area is well known for its bird and wildlife and during the winter, The Wash and its surrounding coastline is a haven for migrating birds. There are nature reserves at Titchwell, Holme and Cley-next-the-Sea and you can book a trip out to see the local seal colony at either Morston or Blakeney, just a few miles along the coast. There are plenty of farm shops, great restaurants and gastro pubs - many award winning - so the area is a foodie heaven and showcases the best the county has to offer from mussels to locally made cheeses and artisan bread makers.  A visit to this part of Norfolk will draw you back again and again - don’t miss out!

Immaculately presented lodge on a quiet development. We had a lovely relaxing stay. Great location for coastal days out and a beautiful market town with a good selection of shops.

Property clean & inviting and well equipped except for the constant problem with the television. It was in an ideal position for us - close to the main bird reserves of Norfolk

The lodge was amazing and incredibly well stocked - they thought of everything, even down to a selection of books and jigsaw puzzles. It was spotless and well-maintained, and provided a comfortable base from which to explore this lovely part of Norfolk.
