The Old Dairy is a wonderful barn conversion just down the lane from the square in the centre of the famous Peak District village of Hartington. It provides spacious and flexible holiday accommodation with a magnificent lounge, superb dining kitchen, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, underfloor heating throughout, a games room, lots of outdoor space and ample parking.

Hartington is set in glorious countryside with its village duck pond, great pubs, local stores and famous cheese shop. Scenic walks go off in every direction, down into lovely Dovedale, across to magnificent Manifold Dale or over the ‘tops’ on the Midshires Way.

Parsley Hay cycle hire on the nearby Tissington Trail, a trip to superb Chatsworth House or beautiful Haddon Hall or just a pie and a pint in a village pub are other enjoyable ways of spending an afternoon. If Hartington is the perfect Peak District location, then please remember that all Derbyshire’s other attractions – castles, caverns, cable cars, canals, steam trains, tram rides, wildlife sanctuaries, watersports, historic houses, craft centres and theme parks, including Alton Towers, - are all within a 20 minute drive.

A perfectly located house in Hartington. Village pub on the doorstep which was great for cosy drinks by the fire and also did a great Sunday roast. Stunning countryside walks from the village. Also made use of the Friday night fish &chips van. The house itself was lovely and modern. The beds were very comfortable and the modern bathrooms were greaRead moret. The house couldve been a little warmer but we made use of the fire (though note that not much wood is supplied). Sitting out in the garden was wonderful. We also headed to nearby Buxton for lunch. We were a group of 8 friends. Really recommend this place to stay. Hide

Excellent location - we experienced snow, sun and cold frosty days which made it even more magical. Bed really comfortable and the kitchen was one the best equipped we have stayed at.

This is such a lovely house. Fantastic location, close to the village but very private. The surrounding area is beautiful. The house is well furnished, extremely comfortable and has everything you need. The wood burner came in very useful! I would highly recommend, we had an excellent week.

An excellent layout for our walking group of 3 couples and 2 singles, lovely size rooms and good quality furnishings etc. Although situated very near to the village which was convenient, once at the cottage it was really quiet and secluded. We appreciated the garden as it was v hot whilst there. The table tennis, darts and games were used!

Wonderful location and comfortable clean cottage. Shower in downstairs bedroom was unreliable sometimes v hot and sometimes cold. Basin in upstairs smaller room was difficult to use due to shelf also would be better to have a shower in that bathroom rather than half bath and a spray with no shower curtain. No mirrors in bathrooms. Nobs on drawersRead more in smaller king size bedrooms come off so difficult to open them. No oven gloves provided which was a problem and quite dangerous. No logs provided but we requested these and they arrived as it was cold. Clock needed a battery so we bought one. No milk in fridge on arrival so we had to wait for our shopping delivery before having a cuppa. Good welcome pack provided strange no milk. Was good accommodation and comfy beds but v expensive considering the issues we raised above . I am sure they can be rectified easily. Although noticed several people commented in previous reviews about no mirrors in bathrooms and they are still absent. It is priced at luxury level so was surprised things were not as perfect as they could have been. Hide
