Saucy Sals is a compact bijou property, located down a wonderful characterful lane just off Church Street in Whitby, close to the famed 199 steps leading up to the Abbey. With an open plan living area and modern kitchenette in a cupboard, Saucy Sals is in the ideal location to explore Whitby. Close to pubs, cafes and shops, the New Way Ghaut is a quiet backwater in this bustling part of the old town. Originally part of a larger house, this is an atmospheric cottage on one level, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the delights of this popular seaside town.

GROUND FLOOR:.
Lounge Area: With two-seater sofa, 2 coffee tables, one with a lamp and a standard lamp. Kick back and listen to some vinyl on the record player provided. You will find a drop leaf table and four folding chairs, great for sitting around and discussing plans for the day over breakfast.
Kitchenette: Open the doors on the large cupboard in the corner and you will find the kitchenette with sink and drainer, two ring ceramic hob, combi microwave oven and fridge. There is even space to store your food on the quirky shelves.
Bedroom: Double bed with clip on lamps, small table with mirror over, chest of drawers and clothes hanging rail.
Shower Room: Modern shower room with tiled floor, large walk in shower, WC, and washbasin with mirror and shelf, heated towel rail.

Pets: 1 dog welcome
Parking: No parking provided.
Short breaks: Not accepted at peak times.
Heating: Electric Heating
Notes: Towels are provided. Unlimited WiFi free of charge. No smoking at this property. Welcome pack provided.

Mobility: Should there be any specific health or mobility difficulties which may affect a party member, this must be pointed out at the initial reservation stage so that the suitability of the property can be assessed as the property is located down an ancient alley in the oldest part of town and as a result may not suitable for people with limited mobility".

This is my second stay in the last couple of months. It's a great location near the 199 steps for the east pier & for walking along the beach or cliff top to Saltwick Bay, Robin Hood's Bay & Scarborough which I've done many times.

Excellent cottage as its just behind the cobbled Church Street & near the 199 steps which is handy to view the town & harbour. The Abbey, St Marys Church & Cemetery are all worth a visit at the top. The coastal path starts nearby where you can walk down to Robin Hoods Bay & beyond. The cottage is all on one level so no tiresome stairs to climb its Read morejust what you need especially if you are in later life save the walking up steps for the 199. TV & Wi-Fi are excellent, phone reception was better by the front door. Top marks Hide

Great location for us. Bed very comfortable. Kitchen set up brilliant. Plenty of space for two for our 3 night stay. Felt cold in late evening - we stayed in January. Directions were great but worth mentioning the red gate entrance to the alley. We walked past it twice. Lots of nice pubs and places to eat in easy walking distance.

Excellent little hideaway in middle of whitby old town. Close to everything. Can highly recommend The Blackhorse little pub big choices on Yapas( Yorkshire Tapas) and excellent selection on beers and spirits

Excellent location close to the Habour and the Abbey with a historic feel. Shops, pubs and restaurants all within close proximity. Small but comfortable accommodation. Kitchen facilities limited but adequate. Great for a short break and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Whitby. However, bear in mind that there is only pedestrian access to the pRead moreroperty so luggage may have to be carried some distance. Also, there is no garden area for your pet to be let out into. This meant an early morning visit to the nearest beach which was pretty close and no great problem but perhaps most suitable for a couple on their own with no pet. Hide
