An impressive County Galway retreat, this gorgeous holiday home nestles at the heart of picturesque Joyce Country. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom property is 3 miles from Maum and 11 miles from Leenaun, also known as Leenane. Perfect for those who enjoy immersing themselves in the great Irish outdoors, it is well located for fishing, hiking and sailing. At Maum, there is a shop and pub and you can book kayaking tours out on Lough Corrib to Castle Kirk, the oldest castle in Ireland. Head 10.5 miles to Lough Na Fooey to see the waterfall and spend time on the sandy beach. Plan a day out to the magnificent Connemara National Park, with its many walking trails, 23.5 miles away.

Enter this cottage to find an abundance of choice when it comes to finding places to sit and relax. The elegant lounge, with its ornate fireplace that houses an open fire, is a lovely spot to unwind and take in the views. You can also gather here to watch TV. The large conservatory, with its wooden floor and ceiling, is also a fabulous space for losing yourselves in the scenery, while the kitchen/diner has additional comfortable seating, as well as a table and chairs. This room, with its exposed brickwork and wooden cabinets, has more of a country cottage feel. The bedrooms, a double with an en-suite shower room, and a twin, are also downstairs, along with a WC and family bathroom. Wooden stairs lead up to the first floor, where there is a reading room.

This property has beautiful, terraced gardens with lawns. There is a patio where you can bask in the sunshine, cook out in the fresh air and gaze out across your surroundings.

Spacious property in a glorious position overlooking Lough Corrib. Kind and accommodating host. Pub and store conveniently located. We would repeat.
